Have you lost 100 lbs?

Quote  |  Reply
I did - yeah I dragged you in so I could brag :P  After a few months in, I set a goal to go from my original 465 to 365 by new years.  Whats eerie is I weighed in yesterday at 364.4.  Perhaps I should start buying lottery tickets?  I was more shocked by being 6/10ths off then excited but happy undeniably.  Now Im not 'just under 400 lbs', Im on 'just over 350".  A stretch but getting closer to it lets me own it.

Instead of setting my goal for another 6 months for another 100 lbs, Im giving myself 8 months to my August birthday but will work to beat it anyway.  Long term goals have been a huge part of staying the course or stopping a cheat because of the deadline.

Would love to hear about others having lost 100 lbs!  Why you feel you were able to hang in there, what you attribute your success to and basically, your story.

That is QUITE an accomplishment and you DESERVE to brag :)

I haven't lost 100lb, but I wanted to say congrats to you , and everyone else who has come so far!
Brag away! You're doing GREAT! I'm proud of having lost 22 pounds in 2 months, but that's nothing compared to your achievement.
That is great Sun!  Congratulations and you go girl!!
I've loss 146 lbs since june 18th 2007,  I'm not sure how i kept myself motivated it just got addictive exercising and eating correctly, i still have about 15 lbs to lose to get in my healthy BMI range.  But it feel fantastic to be under 200lbs.  went from a 48 size pant to a 32, 4xl shirt to a large. congrats on your 100 lb loss and your future weight loss.
Thank you guys and to freak me out further syntitain, I also started June 18th - got the post it on my monitor.  Thats an amazing weightloss and real proof what impact exercise can make on dieting!
I went from about 355 to my current 175ish, so Im pretty close to a 200 pound loss. I won't lose that much because Im 6ft5 so 150 would be super skinny for my muscle mass. But yea, people just don't believe it when I show them my old ID.

The key is not to worry bout what the scale says or what you see in the mirror, at first I didn't notice any difference and almost called it quits...then I noticed my belt was alot more loose and then my vest at work was too big...pay attention to those little things, they will keep you motivated my friend. Good luck.

Well, I'm almost there! I'm at about 89 pounds lost right now.  My theory is to do something I can do forever and just keep doing it.  I try to lose about 6 pounds every 4 weeks.  I deliberately try NOT to loose faster.  The slow rate feels healthy to me.  Eat less, move more, don't go CRAZY!

Congrats to you!  You are amazing :)

I'm not there yet sun - but congratulations to you that is a great achievment!

I've lost 106 pounds since May '07 :-D

Congrats!

It's so great and encouraging that so many of you have lost 100 lbs or greater.  I've just signed up to this website as of yesterday and I need to lose at least 100 lbs.  How in the world are you guys/gals doing it in 6 months?  I need all the help I can get!!

Congratulations to ALL of you! (I hope to be able to join this club by summer!)

=^..^= MOLLY

No I have not lost 100 pounds but I think that is really awesome that you have!  I just started trying to change my lifestyle in order to lose weight so I have 70 pounds to go.  Your story helps me to believe that it can be done if you put your mind to it. Congratulations and keep right on going!! Happy New Year!  Lisa

Congratulations you deserve the right to brag. Keep it up!!!

I haven't lost 100# but I have lost 85# since July 30th. I was motivated after a visit to the Doc. I didn't get a passing grade on any of my blood work.  It is amazing what good eating and exercise can do. My last test results all come back great.

For the first time ever, I write everything I eat down. Thanks to CC I was able to balance my intake requirements and see the big picture.

I also included a exercise routine into my life style.  I started by walking. I walk 5-7km every day. After about two months,  I when to the Running Room and attended a "learn to run clinic". (I never ran in my life).  I have been training for a 10km.  My personal best so far is 10km in 1h 3 min. Shocked even myself!

Dreams are possible.   Congratulations again on your outstanding accomplishment.

Congratulations Sun!!!  Brag away ~ you should be very proud of your accomplishment.
Way to go Sun!!  My hubby weighed almost 450lbs and he is down to 170lbs!  It took him a few years, but he did it, and I know you can reach your goals too!  :)
Congrats to all of you! That is truly a great achievement....just tell me what the h@ll are you doing!Surprised GIMME some SECRETS!!!Cry

First of all congratulations on your success. It's a lot harder work than many realize.

Since May 29th of 2006 I've lost somewhere around 115 lbs. I'm not sure exactly because I never weigh myself. The only reason I know about how much I lost is what I weighed at the doctors a little before May 29th, 2006 and what I weighed a few months ago when on a whim I put a quarter in one of those pay to weigh yourself scales.

I mostly go by my clothes to determine if I'm losing. I was wearing a size 52 pants and now I where a size 36 to 38 depending on the brand. I also was wearing a 3x or 4x shirt or coat and now where a large.

What's interesting to me is that so many people ask me "how did you do it". The answer is I eat less and move more. I exercise at least 30 minutes per day and count calories. The number of calories I eat is determined by multiplying my goal weight by 10 which gives me a base number of calories and then I add the number of calories I burn by exercise. This is what I will do from  now on. I absolutely REFUSE to gain it back again and with God's help I will be successful.

I wish you success sun123...

There are a couple of web sites that give out basic formulas for how much food you need to consume to maintain your existing weight. The general rule of thumb is that for every 3500 calories less you consume each week. or 3500 calories you burn through exercise you will decrease your weight by 1 lb. And if one is morbidly obese and/or perhaps not in the best health, it's hard to burn off 3500 calories, but it's pretty easy to change up food choices and decrease ones diet by that amount. If you Google something like 'how much food is necessary to maintain weight' you should find the formula. I use the accountiblity of Weight Watchers and their weigh-in's (and sometimes clumsy encouragement) and the general advice found in Volumetrics Diet. Have lost 65lbs in that manner pretty easily, but then I was 140 lbs overweight to begin with! Sign me "finding the elf inside me" ...so Imilesw, just get on with it!

Congrats sun! That's an awesome accomplishment. You deserve all the bragging rights. 100 pounds is like.. a teenager off your back. And who couldn't use a teenager off their back? :)

Happy New Year! Let's get through the rest together, and on to maintenance.
