I have lost 23 lbs on here since January
Hello all,
I just found this group. I have been on CC since January and it has really worked for me. I have lost 23 lbs. and I am 2 lbs from my goal weight (155).
Counting calories on here, combined with exercising and logging my activity has worked better than anything else I have tried.
I am interested in local happenings, maintaining my weight, and continuing to get more fit (run further, be able to lift more weight, etc).
Good for you. I am in Houston too. I guess Ike is keeping us all on our toes. I thought I would have met my goal by now but having lost 25 lbs since May and with 5 lbs more to loose I fell into the dreaded plateau. Actually it seems my body went into starvation mode. So I am taking it easy now. Still working out, still counting my calories but almost at the maintenance level. Still a good report I suppose. Good job fellow Houstonian. Beware of Ike!
RE: the PLATEAU!
I did Weight Watchers (lost 15 lbs, but calculating points was driving my husband crazy, so I'm giving CC a try.)
Something I heard about the plateau was to vary the calories/points from day to day, so that some days you're well under target and some days well over -- it is supposed to trick your metabolism into burning a little higher, to get you to your goal.
So, like, if your goal is 1500 calories/day, some days you might eat 1250 and some days 1500 and some days 1750, etc... just make sure you equal 10500 for the week. (And be sure it's not a slope, but really varied from day to day.)
