How were you eating at the time?  I'm guessing that nursing helped you maintain.  It burns 500 calories a day so it really can compensate if you're not eating well.

I hate the whole "nursing makes you lose weight" thing because while it CAN be true, it REALLY depends on how you eat.  If you're eating 3000 calories a day and sitting on your couch 24/7, no you won't lose weight.  You'll probably maintain, but not lose.  If you're eating 1700 calories a day and nursing fulltime and sitting on the couch though, yeah, you'll lose weight.

I'm glad things are working out for you though.  It seems you've had a hard time of it.  I "got lucky" with my initial weight loss.  I was 165 when I got pregnant - I was VERY active but I ate like crap so even 1.5 hours of cardio 4-6 times per week was just maintaining my weigh.  I only gained about 15lbs during pregnancy, I dropped 30 from having him, shaped up my diet (not even that much - I ate the same bad foods, just less of them, around 1500-2000 calories a day instead of 3000) and went from 150 to 125 in about 6 months.  I decided to actually get healthy and be athletic again when my partner had wanted to get into body building (not professional but just enough to "look great").  I learned loads and loads about diet and nutrition and just went at it.  I cut my body fat percentage by something like 12% too.
