OK!  I just did this on Monday, and am down 51 pounds, but I'm the curious type.  I want to know--and I'm sure a lot of you do, too--who else is in the "I've lost 50+ pounds" club!

So, if you have .  .  . please stop by and tell me and everyone else how many you've lost, how long it's taken, how you did it, what motivated you, what was the hardest, and anything else you'd like!

Thanks!  :D

but y'all knew that right?  heh..

i'm actually only 2 pounds away from hitting the 100 pound mark.. so that means that i've lost 98 so far.. still have 86 pounds to lose.

what's the hardest part?  knowing i still have so far to go.. AND the patience to handle this all.. heh.. :)
oh.. and writestuff-  you have to tell your hardest part too!  heh.. :)
OK, Obs--and btw, whoo hoo on getting to 98 pounds!!  :)  We'll lose the last 80-some together, OK?  :D  I've got 83.7 to go to my goal weight . . .

I did it by eating 1300-1500 calories a day, keeping sodium and fat low and fiber high, and drinking lots of water and doing 30-45 minutes of exercise like 4 times a week.  :)

The hardest part--other than patience, and we all know how that is!!--was at first making myself exercise.  Now, I like it, so no problem.  NOW, the hardest part has been the past few days and will be the next few days when I'm trying to make healthy eating choices without my laptop or computer (CC) access to log things until the end of the day after I've eaten all my meals.  Why, you ask??

Well, I've been at a conference and am heading into 14-hour a day orientations for the new students, and I have to rely (gasp!) on cafeteria food and boxed, pre-made lunches--all on tight, hectic schedules.  I've done pretty well, all things considered, by bringing fruit, ff salad dressing packets, and Kashi or luna bars to sub in for really horrendously bad for me food.  I've also stayed under 1500 cal and earned As for every day, by the grace of God, I think b/c there were a lot of unknown factors to enter into things.  I know I'll feel better when I can get back to cooking and controlling all or most of my meals again.

So, it isn't easy.  I get smarter about healthy choices, but they still aren't always easy.  They are, however, worth it!  :D

I finally found a place where I belong!  *giggles*

I have lost 76lbs since January 17th.  It has been hard but I feel great!

I exercise EVERYDAY.  I go to the gym 4 days a week and do 45min of free weights and 1 hr of cardio and the other 3 days I do 45min-1hr of cardio, usually a Jillian Michaels DVD (she is my HERO!) and then the treadmill.

I zig zag my calories between 1350 & 1550 and drink lots of water.

My motivation is my 3yr old son.  Back in December I used to have heart palpitations and anxiety attacks and my blood pressure was creeping up.  I was really scared that something would happen to me and I wouldn't be there for him.  He is my inspiration and he is what keeps me going on this crazy adventure.

I haven't felt this good in a long time.  26 more lbs to go!  I can't wait- my goal is Christmas. ( cross your fingers for me!)

Gina
I started at 232, and am now 174.5. I have a goal weight of 150-155 and am 5'8".

It's taken me about 8 months...6 months on WW, and 2 of going it "alone" and using CC. I'll be the first to admit that I am lazy and hate to exercise, but am finding that as I lose, I'm actually liking it more and more. I think it's due to the fact that I can see my muscles working now, where as before they were buried underneath all that chub!

I am continuously motivated by this website, as well as my 4 yearl old son who has oodles of energy to burn. He forces me to keep up, even on days when I'm too tired. Between him and our Pomeranian, I'm constantly on the go.

The hardest part of this entire journey was finally learning that its okay to eat the foods I enjoy, its moderation that is the key. Once I figured that out, all was well. I still have the occasional slice of pizza/candy/whatever, but now I savor every single bite. It's a treat for me. Im also a big foodie and wine lover and its given me a completely new appreciation for the gourmet foods I love so much.
First of all.. congrats! that's awesome

Secondly, I too have :)... so far I'm down from 195 +/- (I didn't have a scale in the begining but I was at least that) in January... now I'm down to about 142.__ depending on the day, so I'm down about 52lbs... I'm hoping for 55 by next wed. buut we shall see :)

Third of all- congrats to everyone else! Great job guys :)

take care
Well I am also down 66.5 since March 27 though I am also the worlds flattest plateau :( I really want to find the edge of this sucker, Marco....
Congratulations everyone!!

I started at 254 in January and I am down to 201 as of this morning. 53 lbs down.  I hope to reach my goal by March!!!  This site and the support from my husband is what motivates me.  i want us to have a healthy life together!
Well done!

I'm in the 100+ pounds club!
I lost about 60 lbs, but most of it happened before I joined C-C.

Hmm.. what motivated me? I was depressed at the time. I wanted out of the depression. I decided to make changes in my life and to get happy. I started going to the gym. I started taking better care of myself. I started doing things for me.

The bulk of my weight loss (40ish lbs) happened in about 6 months.

The next 15 lbs took another 4 or so months. I then stayed at that weight for quite some time (6 - 8 months) then I gained some weight over the winter (about 10 lbs) and joined C-C in April to lose what I had gained and another 5 lbs as well as to get myself back into the toning I had been doing before.

I've been maintaining now for a few months.
Thanks, everyone!  I knew there were some of you out there, but I didn't know who.  :D

You're all an inspiration to me, and I'm sure to others!  :)

If there's anyone else in this "Club" who hasn't posted, please do!  I know that when I'd only lost 10 or 20, and was feeling how hard it was, the people who'd lost more were motivating.  Now, knowing that others like Obs, finewine, seraph, etc. have lost close to or more than 100 is motivating.  Yes, I've lost 52, but I have 80 or so to go!  Whew!  I feel like the little engine that could, but it is still nice to hear about other people's victories!! :D
Not there yet :/ Hoping to be soon, though!!
Started 1/24/06 at 280 and as of this morning down to 207. That's 73 pounds gone. I still have 30-50 pounds to go and I would like to do it by the first of the year.

Hardest part is not binging. Not eating the food I had once loved. Changing my eating habits and really thinking about what I consume and how it will affect my analysis. :)
Hello. I'm new to this website and am still getting to know it. I want to lose 50 pounds. I've lost 5 so far in a week, but I know that's what usually happens the first week of dieting. I know it will slow down, and that's when I get frustrated.

I had bariatric surgery 4 years ago and lost 150 pounds. I was 320 pounds and ALWAYS fat. I got down to 170, then had my son and went up to 200. Now I'm at 210 and want to get down to my original goal weight of 160.

Wish me luck!
I have lost 70 lbs.  I started last Aug changing my bad eating habits one at a time.  I only started cc 13 weeks ago.

My motivation is my kids, husband and my job.  The hardest thing for me is still night time snacking and cravings.

I still have 60lbs to go - I hope to be there by next summer.

Slow and steady wins the race!!!

Congratulations for hitting 51lbs!
I am now at 55 lbs gone. 73 left to go. It's taken me about 15 months, but I took about 6 months of maintenance (not really on purpose, but what are you gonna do?).

How I did it? CONSTANTLY monitoring my daily calorie intake, my exercise levels, my nutritional balance...every day holds new challenges and new circumstances.

What motivated me? Each lb I lost was one more reason to smile at myself in the mirror. And I like to smile.

What was the hardest? Overcoming the way I've wired my body to respond to food over the past 20 years. My body kept fighting because I had taught it such BAD habits, and it was up to me to re-wire things. I'm still working on this.

:)
I am now at 51 lbs. down, 55 to go! XD

*joins everyone in the 50 lbs or more dance*
Great going HK!!
Me too.  :)  51.4 as of this morning, although I expect some of that is water weight and would put it at closer to 50 real pounds lost.  I'll know in a day or two I guess.  :)

At first it was mostly about portion control, making healthy choices, and generally changing how I looked at foods, but the last 10 pounds have been very different.  I'm at a point now that unless I get some good exercise in I'm not budging much.  I only burn just over 1700 cals a day without exercise, and have had some plateau issues the past couple of months.  So the hardest part has been not getting frustrated at the change in 'pace'.  It took me 4 months and 3 weeks to lose the first 40.  The last 10 have taken 2 months and 1 week.  I've got 10-15 more I'd like to lose, and I'm hoping to make it by the end of the year.  :)
Hooooray! Congrats, Panda! :D
And welcome back! I know I missed ya :)
