Manda: if you are now underweight or have restricted your calories to a "starvation" level then yes the weight loss could have caused your period loss.
If your body fat gets too low you can also lose your period and this can be caused by strenuous exercise.
If people are going to respond to the OP please respond with comments that are conducive to healthy weight management and eating a restrictive diet when you're already at a healthy weight is not HEALTHY.
Everyone's energy needs are different so we cannot possible know what caloric intake would be appropriate for the OP but 2000 calories consistently is a good start if she isn't underweight. Consistency is key because hormone imbalances don't go away overnight. You have to give your body time to adjust to the changes once you adopt healthier habits. Use the online calculator at phord.com/cc if you're over 18 and at bcm.edu if you're under 18. I apologize for not having this info on hand about your specific stats but I'm on my BB which makes it difficult to scroll back and forth. So I hope this helps and please do what's best for your health. 5 pounds lighter and 10x unhealthier is not really worth the tradeoff in my book. If you lost your period then your body is definitely communicating a essage to you and something needs to change!
