I am so happy for you.  As with fatdoc, I started about the same time as you did and I lost my way for 4 months and I came back but I've only lost 16 lbs.  You guys have helped me to know that it will work and I can do it!  I will do it.  I've put both of you in my friends list even though I've only just read about you - I may be in touch when the going gets going.  Thanks for your motivational message and all your hard work.

Grats :) I lost my 80th today too.

syntheticpinkfluff, i am pretty far below trend and have been the whole time although there was a period when i didn't lose anything for about 5 weeks! i jump started things and got the scale moving down again by following about 3 weeks of really strict Eat To Live (www.drfuhrman.com) where i ate one pound of raw veggies, 2 servings of fresh fruit, up to one pound of cooked veggies, and no more than one serving of a whole grain, and no more than one cup of beans or legumes per day- no processed foods (i.e. no canned beans!), no added sugar or salt. calorie wise that plan worked out to about 1300 calories/day... but it's a plan for extreme weight loss and some people lose up to 20 pounds in a month. in the 3 weeks that i was strictly following it i think i lost about 12 pounds.

ohio45, now i follow a variation of that Eat To Live program... very minimal processed foods, obviously no meat or dairy (i'm vegan), and lots of fresh foods with a minimum of 2 servings of fruit everyday. i also keep my sodium level between 500-900mg daily, and i drink 100 oz of water everyday. i also workout 5 times per week on the elliptical and the treadmill. normally i get on the elliptical at a high resistance and stay on until i've burned 300ish calories and then i get on the treadmill and set it for an hour. i don't push myself too hard on the treadmill as much as i do on the elliptical, but i do set the incline fairly high and use the heart monitor to make sure that my heart rate stays in the "weight loss zone". i've found that doing this keeps the scale moving down at 2 pounds per week now.
