Quote  |  Reply

ok, im 19, 5 feet and 5 inches,  and have a 28inch waist, i weighed about 165 in january of 08 and am now down to 127 i eat about an average of 1300 calories a day, i have not measured my body fat %, but i already have people telling me that i am too skinny, but i feel that im not as skinny as i should be, ive recently cut back on cardio from an hour run and hour walk to 30min run and 30 of basket ball, with 90-2hrs of weight lifting ( 4 days a week), i feel that i shouldnt stop loosing weight till i have a complete 6pack without giving much effort to show it( at a current 4) what should i do?

Got a personal trainer? May want to have a chat with one.

Well if you want a six pack you'll need to lose more body fat and up your muscle mass.    That doesn't necessarily mean losing more weight.    I know girls with 6 packs who weigh 140lbs.     Everyone's body type is different.    For the amount of activity you are doing, 1300 cals a day is on the low side.   If you are wanting a firmer, toned frame, you might try uping your cals to 1600-1800 for a couple months, keep up your weight lifting, and start lifting a little bit heavier, changing things up.    The added muscle mass will increase your metabolism and start burning off that extra fat you dont want.  Keep up the cardio, its a good fat burner.

But ditto to ladydeathbird.  A trainer would be a good idea, they will know how to tailor a plan to your body.

I have people saying the same thing to me, and my BF is 16%. Your BMI is well within the normal category,  so don't worry if people say you are too skinny, my theory is that so many people are overweight, a normal person just looks skinny by comparison.
