Lots of Questions

Quote  |  Reply

i am a newbie with lots of questions

ok about me

Im 5ft 1 female 22 yrs old.

Weight 165lbs and size 14uk

bmi is 31.2

I work two jobs (mon - wed 8am - 11pm, thursday/fri 8am - 5pm and sat.sun 5pm - 11pm)

as you can see i have very little free time. During day i work in accounts office, so i pretty much sit at desk all day, at night i work as store supervisor for supermaret, stacking and filling shelves etc.

i have already overhauled my diet, cut out ALL JUNK which i  pretty much lived on including crisps, sweet and fizzy juice. I now drink water, sometimes tea, flavoured water, or vitamin drinks

A typical menu for me is breakfast about 9am - 930am consisting of oat cereal with dried strawberries, and bio yogurt, or bran cereal with semi skimmed milk.

Lunch is (half can of Heinz) soup or homemade soup. followed by apple, banana or similar at 1pm

At 3pm i have a snack consisting of apple, banana, raisins or rice cake (or other fruit depending what i have at home).

at 5pm i start my other work so no time to cook. My next break is 7.30pm and i tend just to have toast or something light.

Excercise wise i get up at 6.30 every morning  (mon - fri) and do 30-45 mins of tae bo (occasionaly hip hip abs). i have also considered taking my dog out for a 15 min run after this (slow to begin) to build more into it. would i benefit from this or will this just tire me out more.(Dad looks after my dog when im at work and normally gives dog a big walk about 10am just incase people think im cruel to my dog)

also my other job at night is quite demanding as you are on your feet the entire 5hours, with minimal sitting, constantly walking back and forth from back shop to front shop with items (not heavy, very rarely).

Can you tell me if i am doing the right things to help lose weight. and be healthy too as i have tried diets before when i was younger and got extremely unwell. (I have asthma as well which makes some exercise hard).

I would love to be a size 10/12 by 19th dec as this is my xmas party date.

can someone please help. i need to know if im doing things right, will i lose weight, is there anything else i hsould do.

My dad is going to sit with me on thur fri and sat to do some light weights to tone muscles better rather than just cardio. Sun is my day off from exercise as i like to chill before going to work.

Love to hear comments

Those are long work hours on what amounts to waaaayyyyy too little food.

Maybe on a Sat/Sun morning you could make some Supper meals for the rest of the week and stick them in the fridge/freezer.

I understand working long and hard hours.. BUT... you need to feed your body.. I would guess based on this meal plan you listed that your cals dont add up anywhere near 1200 fof the day.  I see very little protein (mebbe in the soup?)_ and no veggies.. (again unless in the soup)

A balance of the food groups and a reasonable amount of calories will help you lose weight.  I plugged in your numbers and put you at moderate activity for all the hours you work and your exercise and you should be eating at 1491 cals per day, and you are no where near that honey

Your body needs to feed itself and you need to eat to lose weight :)

what are you eating 600-700 calories maybe? you're starving yourself!! EAT!! food is your friend and you are really really undereating. you diet can easily get better.

B: oatmeal, a cup of yogurt, a fruit ~ 325

S: 1 oz nuts ~160

L: garden salad with 1 tbsp olive oil and a bit of vinegar, 4 oz chicken, and a fruit ~375

S: 2 rice cakes (if you like them) 1/2 cup cottage cheese ~175

D: 4 oz lean protein, 2oz ww pasta, 1 cup veggies tossed together with low fat dressing or a couple tsp oil ~400

That's almost 1450 calories...balanced, tasty, and healthy.

Thanks ladies

My veg is contained in soup everyday (although sometimes ill have salad etc aswell.)

My main problem is that i CANT eat loads, i have a tear in the lining of my stomach and by eating loads it releases the acid which makes me extremely ill and sore. I have to eat little and often if you like. i try to have 3 meals a day although i agree my calorie intack is low. how can i boost this healthily without having to sacrifice more time. Sat are usually me and my family day, spend time with my pooch etc, dont really want to cook all day.  My dad has started preparing extra when he makes tea for my mum and sis so that i can have it at lunch the next day. He always makes good stuff like mince and mashed potatoes, with peas and carrots so at least that would be scrumptious.

I am a size 14 but went up from an 8/10 as i ate takeouts everynight after a breakup went bad.  Do you think now not eating enough is causing me to hold onto that weight and how do i get it off?> will 7 weeks be enough to make a BIG difference.

p.s. im extremely fussy about what i eat so finding ready meals etc are hard to come by

Lyndsay
