lots of vodka + bingeing . what now?
Okay so last night I got extremely drunk, thanks to vodka and friends.
And around 3 am when I came back, my friends and I decided to have a FEAST. I took advantage of this, and binged on EVERYTHING in sight.
So now, what should I do today? Should I still eat my 1500 calories? Or eat less since I ate so much last night/this morning?
lets also ignore the fact that I weigh 4 pounds more this morning![]()
Just go back to your normal eating. If you restrict today, you'll be more likely to over eat later, and it will create a cycle.
And lots of alcohol + salty food = temporary weight gain, so don't worry too much. You clearly didn't eat an additional 14,000 calories, so that four pounds will go away.
i did the same thing last night. i also suggest not trying to restrict too much- just eat when you're hungry and don't worry too much about it.
Yah, just act as if nothing happened.............count it as a lesson learned ![]()
I agree, eat normally, BUT only if you feel hungry. Don't eat your meals just because it's meal time today and you feel you should. Eat light low - sodium foods with lots of liver cleansing water! Even if it isn't particularly appealing right now, your liver will thank you ; )
I would concentrate on resting and getting your water in today. Sure, eat when you're hungry but more importantly, you need to rinse all of that crud out of your system. Your body will do that on it's own but drink water to help flush it out. I guess I'm looking at it from a hangover point of view. Ugh! Get rid of it and then get back on your feet.
I think calorie counting can backfire in instances such as these. I've done the same thing as you more than I'd care to admit and know that the next day I'm never very hungry (and why should you be hungry when you have all those calories stored up from last night). So I'd say focus less on counting and more on listening to your body. If you're hungry eat, if not, don't.
Is it weird that I always seem to weight significantly less after I get substantially drunk then? I mean, I assumed it was because I was dehydrated, hence less weight so it made sense.. but you guys are saying you tend to weigh more after a night of drinking? I'm a little confused. For example, I usually eat between 1300-1800 cals/day and my weight is slowly decreasing but mostly hovering between 145-147, last weekend we had a party at my house, had nachos for supper, and apparently I was eating an unknown amount of chips later in the night, and the next morning I only weighed 143.
I guess my question is, in this situation what makes more sense? The dehydration making my weight lower? Or the booze and sodium making it higher?

It could be because of a little something my friends and I affectionately call "The Hangover Poo". Yes, it's a little bit of a hush hush subject- but everyone I have ever felt to be strong-stromach and well-humoured enough to discuss the topic with has agreed. After a heavy night of drinking, most people tend to produce excessive mounds of poo, bordering near toilet-clogging. After you... um... "relieve yourself", it's quite possible to weigh 5 pounds less. Honestly. That could be why you weigh the same, or less.
wow a lot of great insight
thank you!
So pretty much I have been eating only when I'm hungry. Probably only going to eat about 1000 calories for the day, seeing as I probably ate around 3000 last night.
And I also went to the gym, and used the elliptical for 40 minutes.
Its just so frustrating, just when I thought I had my bingeing under control (20 days binge-free!) .. I get super drunk and it took all my self-control away. Oh well, new day!!
Thanks guys!
I didn't know anybody else had the hangover poo!!!
