was a programme about polyarmory on tonight.....crazy..

this guy lived with his wife and two girlfriends...who all sleep in the same bed...but the two girlfriends have to get up at 6am and go down to the couch so that the guys kids dont see them in bed together...

he takes out a calendar everyweek and allocates times of being with each girl...

and AND when hes having sex with his wife the two girlfriends wait downstairs until he calls them to go to bed......

WHAT THE HELL!

What part are you asking "what the hell" about? I've done the polyamory thing before, never all in one household though. I have friends who have those relationships currently.

Fun fact: the guy who created both the polygraph machine and the character Wonder Woman also was involved in a polyamorous relationship. The women continued to live together after his death.

u wudn find it a bit weird if a guy whipped out a calendar and was like.....aw no sorry cnt do that im havn sex with her..mayb after we can have tea...?

to me open relationships are grand for a bita fun.

....but i couldnt sit down stairs while the guy i love is with someone else...and then calls down the stairs okay im finished...u can go to bed now.....

well the calendar would kill some of the thrill, sure. But I could say that of monogamous relationships too. I've heard of old married couples having their special sex nights--too perfunctory. Just some nights I'd be with someone else, some nights the guys would.

 Seriously dude.

try watching Big Love on HBO - quite an eye opener into the functioning of a polygamous relationship.....

its just different than what your used to...

On a level free of societal pre-conceptions...it IS possible for people to love more than one person.

But...our society is continuation from generations of people who develop for various reasons (a lot they didnt even understand). Don't let your ancestors (who knew 1/1000th of what you do) control how you live and think in the world.....

Meh.  Ancestors be damned.  I simply don't like to share.  If my man wants to share, then he can go find someone else to do his laundry.

And from what I've seen of the show, polygamy is not an easy thing.  That is, of course, unless they want to be nice and subsurvient and follow the rules that the "man" decides on.  Undecided

Ah, yes, nothing beats the uber-realism of HBO ...

Dude, where's the woman and her man lovers?!

Ha!  No, lysis.  That's not what I meant.  But I can guess that the day-to-day problems would be close to the same.  You know.  Who takes care of the kids, who works what hours, who has what bedroom shifts, etc.  I doubt that it's just all fun and games.

A relationship between two people is hard work.  A relationship between multiple people is even more work.

o yeh thats the other thing the girls werent allowed see other guys......that was a rule he made........he sed hed be too insecure.....and worried that they wud love the other guys more than him........dnt know seems a bit mad to me!.....

ha! f that. polygamy is all fine and dandy - but if the dude gets to have fun with various partners, wth can't i?!

LOL for real!

Exactly! A truly open relationship I can understand. I wouldn't be up for it personally, as was said before I wouldn't want the man I love to have sex with someone else and wouldn't want to be touched by another man if I'm in love with someone. That's just me.

HOWEVER if both partners are up for it and have talked openly about it and are both free to do whatever they want then go for it!

This sounds like another power hungry man controlling some women. Great

ha. srsly. damn the man.

That's why those shows always make me laugh.  The guy doesn't want a true open or poly relationship, he just wants whichever women he wants.

That happens too.

Oh, see, now I would never roll with that. If it's polyamory for you it's polyamory for me.

Oh I know, I was mainly complaining about the show. =) Shows like this never (or very rarely) show the other side.
