I love Christmas and country music, Jesus, Barack Obama, and counting calories!
I think I may be the only calorie counter that loves Christmas and country music, lol.
(I'm a Christian, a life-long Democrat, and I whole-heartedly supported Obama in the election.)
All the forums make me really proud to live in a country that allows us all to express so many different beliefs and opinions!
Edit: These were my rambling thoughts; not that anyone really cares about my affiliation. I just read the "Be Good for Goodness Sakes...why God" thing and the Christmas music thing.)
I hate X-mas and Country music, Jesus, Obama and counting calories! Oh, and I hate the color yellow.
Hey, you're not alone! I love Christmas and country music too. Johnny Cash is my idol! And I love the *real* Christmas, not this commercial cash-fest that it has become. But I agree that I am proud to live in a country as diverse as ours. What a nice uplifting post.
I love Christmas a great deal, and I'm not even a Christian. I am just good for goodness' sake. ;-)
To me, Christmas is very heartwarming. I love the trappings of Christmas, trees topped with angels, yule logs, ornaments, the feeling of sharing, loving, and giving. If I could not be the Ghost of Christmas Future, then I'd want to be Santa Claus. The concept of sneaking into people's homes and leaving thoughtful gifts sounds like a blast!
Although my approach to Christmas is secular, I also dislike the crass commercialism, and the call to everyone "spend, spend, spend!" until it hurts.
It's not just the aesthetics... I try to make every day like Christmas. I'm not always successful.
I can't stand country music, but someone has to like it! And I also wholeheartedly supported Obama, too! I'm really glad he's going to be our President (wow, it feels weird to start it with a capital letter after using lowercase for 8 years)!
I also hate circles and tambourines.

i hate country music. johnny cash transcends that category.
I LOVE Christmas. Even the commercial aspects. I love shopping and buying things for people and the music and the rush and all of it.
But my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Great food, family, love. What could be better?
And Johnny Cash... what more needs to be said? And I am a bigot in regard to country music: I like individual songs and/or groups but in general dislike the genre.

Exactly. I don't mind Christmas, hate country music (Johnny Cash excluded), not into Jesus, like Obama and counting calories I'm pretty indifferent about.
Well, let me clarify. I truly don't get excited and happy about logging my foods, but I am excited that counting the calories has allowed me to drop 70 pounds. New country and redneck pride songs are not my favorites, but I'm still a fan of the genre.

I hate "Kumbaya."
Me too. I have since girl scouts. The song gives me a stomach ache every time I hear it.
I'm being serious.![]()

I hated Girl Scouts. I don't know what is was like for you, but all they had us do was come up with recipes and sew things (early 70's). They didn't teach us any wild survival skills. We never "roughed it." I was hoping to see bears, make a tourniquet, and cook roots and tubers on a fire. ![]()
Hell, we didn't even get to sew! We did a lot of "cuisine from around the world."
I would have rather been in boy scouts. They had fun!
We went camping once when I was in Girl Scouts. And by "camping", I mean sleeping in cabins. haha It was always just girls fighting... no fun.

What's up with that? It was camping in cabins, and lots of fights. Guess regardless of the age you are, Girl Scouts never changes... *sigh*
At our camp we had a latrine with lots of spiders. It smelled heavily of Pine-Sol too.
That's as outdoorsy as camp got.
Bah-Hum-Bug!
Hey, I would love to chat with you! I am a Christian too. I am not sure how this site works to actually sends messages on the side. I tried and it said I didn't have that priviledge because you weren't added as a friend...... Kind of at a loss, on how to do this.
I don't mind christmas itself, can't stand christmas music, abhore country music, especially Johnny Cash. The sound of his voice makes me shudder and go into convulsions.
And I hate haiku!
I like christmas. I like giving people presents. I also give people presents at other times of the year and for no reason, but it's fun to give a whole bunch of presents all at once. I also enjoy wrapping and decorating the presents. I like pretty, shiny stuff -- maybe I'm part parakeet, who knows. And I like Jesus. And I like Obama. But I'm kind of selective about country music. I used to not like any of it. But then I found a few songs I liked. And then a few more. Country music is like panning for gold at Tweetsie, you can find a little shimmer of light if you sift through enough dirt.
edit: and I like poetry, especially haiku ![]()
I love little baby ducks, old pick-up trucks, slow-moving trains, and rain
I love little country streams, sleep without dreams, sunday school in may,
And hay
And I love you too
I love leaves in the wind, pictures of my friends, birds in the world, and squirrels
I love coffee in a cup, little fuzzy pups, bourbon in a glass, and grass and I love you too
I love honest open smiles, kisses from a child, tomatoes on the vine, and onions
I love winners when they cry, losers when they try, music when its good, and life
And I love you too
Edit: and even you too Mooni!
