LOVE to EAT

Quote  |  Reply

I am struggling with about 20lbs but not doing much to lose it. Well, besides counting calories. My baby is 12 weeks old and I am 153lbs. My ideal is 130lbs so hence my reason for counting calories. I am eating what I like to eat but I read the labels on everything. I try to stay below 1300 calories a day but is becoming difficult since I started working again. My co-workers are still feeding me..as if I am still preggers.

Anywayz, I can do it... Here are some healthy low calorie options.

For breakfast:

Fiber one Pancake mix : 1/4 cup has 90 calories

egg beaters      &n bsp;        ;   : 1/4 cup has 30 calories

Pancake syrup (lite)     :  2tbsp has 100 calories.

IF I have pancake and eggs, I'll consume less than 250 calories because I don't need that much syrup. The pancakes are a bit sweet and flavored...TRY it

Even if you eat one whole egg scrambled (~90cal), it should still not be bad.

Other days, I'll eat the serving size of special K cereal with 1% milk.

I think it is all about getting used to smaller serving sizes, acquiring the taste for lower cal food and not cheating. This can happen within a week with discipline.

For Lunch

My Turkey sandwich and mixed veggies = ~275 calories

Nature's own 100% whole wheat bread : 50 cal per slice

Oscar Myer turkey slices      &nb sp;               &nb sp;     : 45 cal per serving

Provolone cheese      &nb sp;               &nb sp;                : 50 or 70 cal options are available.

Mixed veggies      &n bsp;        ;       &n bsp;        ;       &n bsp;      : 60 cal for 1/4 cup

You may add a tsp of mayo which should not be more than 50 cal.

For dinner, I usually have chicken or fish with some mixed veggies. But I'll have a couple snacks such as a yogurt and cereal bars. Most times I cheat so post your suggestions. ThanksCool

Well, my suggestion is dont cheat Cool the calorie math has to work to lose.  Consider why your cheating - are you hungry? You mention getting used to smaller portions and that does come but consider low cal, high bulk foods if its a hunger thing.  If its temptation? Your coworkers cant feed you like your pregnant if you dont accept their foods.

Cheating most the time is eating away at your good efforts. You sound like you have good ideas and just are finding your place but sounds like a main issue is staying strong. Consider setting some hardcore goals that you can work towards.  Time is on our side - let the losses accumulate but it requires staying strong.

I appreciate your comment. I have poor discipline.

But..I am losing the weight for the most part. I don't eat a lot..but to reach my goal I will have to stick to the recommended calorie intake. I have too be grateful though ..I  was 163lbs a month ago. I am still breastfeeding as well and I do not count the calories required for that.  I also will need major motivation to start exercising.
