"I love you/him/her to death" and other phrases we hate.

(and why do people always say that about people they've been accused of murdering? at least on A&E....)

anyhow...what phrases and cliches irk you?

Dude, great thread!!  ;)

when someone starts a question, sentence or conversation with the word DUDE!!  it doesn't irritate me as much when they end the convo with 'dude', but it still does annoy me a little

"Dude, whatcha doin' this weekend?"

"Dude, i was at the mall and blah blah blab..."

i've done it to get on friend's nerves, but they didn't even flinch.   <-- guess they're used to it, who knows?

I hate when people use the phrase "on here" to mean "on this website"...Im not sure if its gramatically incorrect, but it reminds me of the frequently used "where are you at?"

i don't mind "dude" as long as the person is making fun of themself when they say it!

another one that drives me nuts is "24/7" - as in, "We're together 24/7."

um...no, you're not.  you're just not.  as soon as you say 24/7, you're lying.

edit: crap.  i just realized that "themself" totally isn't a word.

These ones make me grind my teeth when they are directed at me:

oh!! i found one that i hate more than 'dude'

when someone's talking and after each sentence (or in the middle of the sentence) they say "know-wha-I'm-sayin'?"  <---- now THAT is freakin' annoying!!

Not a phrase, but I also hte whn ppl typ lk ths, wth barly any vwls! Qte a few CC mmbrs commnly do ths.

i especially hate that when they go on to tell us they're a wrtr or in grd schl or something.

 oh my god, you're sooooo right, pg!!

i should have used the CC search thiny and looked up 'dude' and 'knowhai'msayin' words first.   because everyone KNOWs we're just picking on them (whoever 'them' may be)

i say this gets to page 6 before someone complains
