I just bought a polar f6 and absolutely love it.  I was bracing myself for disappointment because from what I have heard, CC overestimates burn for most people.  According to my polar CC was actually UNDER estimating my burn by 100+ cals!

Me too!  I got a polar and use it for every exercise session including walking the dog.  It's very motivating.  If it did over estimate, I wouldn't care.  I'd just adjust my expectations.  Watching those numbers move up - calorie counts, amt of time exercising, etc. is great!

Mine is pink.  I was going to get blue, but got a good deal on overstock.com
Mine is pink too!

Mine is blue, but I love it love it love it!  A few weeks ago it had me buring 1800 calories in 2 hours on my bike (I was really booking it, working really hard).  I was like, whoo-hoo!!

:)

my personal goal is 5000 calories / week - no excuses.  I work out at least 1 hour a day, 6 days/week sometimes 7 so - no excuses.

it's probably easier for me now because I'm so overweight.  when I reach mid - onederhand (150 - 160 ish)  it may be harder to burn that much but we'll see. ;o)

Mine is pink, too!  I love using it and pack the band when I go on trips!   I use the uplink sometimes, too, to show what exercise I've done at the Polar link site.

I love my HRM too. I was definitely underestimating burns--like for soccer, I'd try to figure out how much time was actually running/sprinting, and I'd only log that. Well, that was MUCH too little! Wanting to see higher numbers is a great motivator for when I'm wondering if I even really feel like working out today . . .

i had a quetion regardig the HRMs.

do we need to pay something every month to get the data from some website or no?

I am eager to buy but do not want to end up paying every month for it.

The Body bugg has a subscription model where you need to pay every month, but it's pretty much unique. Any other heart rate monitor - like these from Polar don't.

They're only designed to track calories during exercise, the Body bugg will track everything you do with a reasonable stab at even better accuracy. But unless you're paid for your physique like a personal trainer, body builder or fitness model I don't think the body bugg is worth the price and ongoing fee.

thanks melkor...!!

i know we can always depend upon you for prompt answers...

i wa reading the reviews of polar f6 and some of the reviews were real bad and hence i got confused about that.I am desperately looking for anything that will help me loose weight...

I just wore mine horseback riding and oh my did I underestimate my burn!  I spend 2 hours at the barn, 1 hr was tacking up and bathing my horse the other hour was spent riding (walk, trot, canter and jumping about 3'3'')  I burned a total of 1000 cals!  CC gave me about 400 for that same amount of time (of course CC doesn't have things like jumping etc...)

I also just wore it while mowing my lawn and trimming my bushes. 1.5 hrs and 963 cals! not bad, i should do yard work more often...

I really need to get one and learn once and for all what my heart rate is and at what rate I'm burning calories - will definitely swing around and help out w/ my eating!

<3 Polar. Exercising without my F4 feels weird.

That's funny about the yard work because I thought the same thing.  I wear it when i'm doing chores around the yard & house that I don't ususally do on a normal basis.  For example, I don't wear it doing laundry, yet I will wear it if I decide to get some extra exercise in and wash down the cabinets or like you did, cut the bushes.  Sometimes I hire that out, but since I'm spending time w/ a trainer and going to the gym everyday, I figure I would do some extra activity AND save the $$ too.
