IM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS AND I HOPE A LOT OF PPL JOIN AND KEEP UP WITH THE WEEKLY....CAUSE I HAVE TO LOSE SOME WEIGHT....IVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT IT!!
SW:239((THAT IS SOOOOOOO big) Yiikes!
GW:150
...WELL YOU GUYS WE CAN DO THIS!!
I know that this I'm probly getting on u guys nerves....but I would like to know if you guys think this a good idea?
...Im trying to do a low carb diet and have found that in order to keep myself full during the day, I snack on PORK SKINS? LOL! (CHICHARRONES).....AND ONLY EATING AT SMALL MEAL AT NIGHT....LIKE A SALAD? AND IN THE MORNING I MIGHT SOME EGGS AND EVEN SOME LOW FAT YOGURT.....AND IM DRINKING A LOT OF WATER....
THE BAG OF SKINS ARE ABOUT 90CAL A PIECE AND IM EATTING MAYBE 3 BAGS THROUGH OUT THE DAY...IS THAT BAD?.....I MEAN I KNOW I DONT NEED TO STARVE MYSELF, BUT I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SAY FOR ONE TIME THAT I WAS ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH WEIGHT LOSS.....
YOUR FEED BACK WILL BE THANKFUL!
first, laeshia --- no worries. we are all here for the same reason, right? ( :
second, I did Atkins and lost a ton of weight, but I did not find it was a way of eating I could maintain for the rest of my life. Are you ready to do that?? eat low carb forever? if not, I would just count cals and workout because it is hard to never have bread again. that said. Nothing wrong with pork skins except really high sodium = water retention = hard to lose, looks like you gained.....
Also, I started at 230 and am at 153 today, so it cane be done!!!
Thanx so much....Im really new to all this, so I kinda get embarrased.....
I guess I better lay off the skins!!! LOL!....BUT THEY ARE SOOOOO good. and when I eat them they keep wanting water.....How did you lose your weight?
Low carb is an easy way to lose weight and it can be very healthy if you do it right. Pork skins are probably not the best thing for a diet. They are more then likely loaded with trans fat which clogs your arteries, not to mention the salt. Try to cut out bad carbs like cookies, white bread crackers, and sugary cereal, The quaker oatmeal packs are really good but again they do tend to have alot of sugar in them. but they are not to bad for a snack. I make them with skim milk instead of water they are tastier then, also at about 160 a pack but don't forget to add the milk in the count they are a filling sweet snack..If you stick with fruits, veggies, and lean protein you will do great just try to stay away from bread, and cookies made with white flour. white flour is the enemy nothing good about it.
My weight is still a work in progress. I do find if I stick to veggies, proteins, and fruit the weight drops faster and I feel better if I stay away from white flour.
Our weigh day is in two days right? Did we decide to weigh on Sunday? I am nervous and don't think I have lost or gained! =(
no worries, miss mini-mary -- no loss or gain is a maintain, which at times, in my book, is a success in itself. ( :
agree with baby, laeshia -- white flour is bad. I wasn;t saying low carb is bad, but hard. At least for me. look in South Beach maybe? it's still low carb, just less restrictive and I think more realistic than hard core Atkins....
I started in May/June 07 walking 30-60 minutes a day. SLowly but surely over the summer, some pounds fell off. I found cc in June, and started counting my cals religiously. That made a huge difference for me. I thought I was eating "healthy" but cc showed me the truth. I was eating decently, but not low cal and not in a range where I need to be eating to lose. SO....counting, exercise, TONS AND TONS OF WATER, lots of fruit and veggies, fiber, low sodium, lean protein.....I guess that's a short summary of how I did it. Take measurements now in the start, and when the scale is not making you happy, check the inches. that always makes me feel better. ( : Now I run 3-4 miles a day and ride a bike, lift weights, eat right, take care of me.
You can do it too, girlie! we all can!
So today is the big day!! I started 12/1 and today I am down 2 lbs! I am so excited. It has always been hard for me to lose weight.. I love the motivation, It ACTALLY helps me out a lot, to see that its not just me struggling.
I am also disappointed though, today was my first weigh in and I posted it on cc and it says I won't reach my 20 lbs goal untill the end of APRIL! That kinda discouraged me but hopefully we can all reach our 20 lb goal by feb!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE~
welcome kiser! ( :
congrats on being down two! that's awesome! I too saw a new low today -----152.6. I love it when that finally happens after weeks of one pound more. Makes it all worth sticking to it!
The calorie coach is just a guide. Think of it like --- being ifit is forever, right? what's a few more weeks? Keep up the good work!
other successes this week, ladies?

Yea you are so right ... I just thought I would put in Feb just as a target... But I know its going to take longer for me to lose it... I have a weakness for food ...LOL... So wee can keep this going till we all have reached our goals ... And when one reaches their goal we can help her maintain and she can support us while we lose... LOL.. Im going to be here a while LOL
I agree. I like the idea of a longer goal date time period. I would be stoked to just lose the last, stubborn 5 lbs. I set out at 270 to get to 150 having been at my thinnest 152 in 10th grade and 155 after a crazy Atkins stint a few years back. I have seen 153 with some consistency, but it is SO MUCH slower now then it was when I started.
My weight loss plan is just my life now. I run with my dog or ride a bike, with some strength training, pretty much every day. I eat 1500-1700. Booze is a tough one for me. I am TRYING not to drink but maybe once a week on weekends until the holidays. Sort of for losing, but osrt of just to prove to myself I can do it. I drink too much --- nothing crazy, but you know empty cals are bad and all. =P I drink 3 33 oz bottles of water at work (try and succeed almost all week every day -- just habit) and drink more at home, no even diet soda. I try to be very aware of my sodium and keep it low. it makes me retain water = gain, annoying, but manageable, eh? I get lots of fiber/pill, take a vitamin, lots of veggies and tons of fruit. more fish and chicken then red meat. if I eat the right food, I find I get a lot to eat. I also made a huge list of snacks and ideas when I first started as I found things I liked that were GOOD, satisfying substitutes for my old, "bad" favorites.
LOL --- I did not mean to spout a bunch of junk, but I liked the paragraph I started. It was kind of cool to hear myself talk about how my mental outlook has changed since June O7 at 230 (270, last time I got down to 155 doing Atkins) WOW.
All my other challenges are more short terms like Xmas or New Year's, so this one will be good. ( ;
I'd love to hear any so close you can taste it, plateau busting tips besided zigzagging and changing my workouts. (I'm trying those already)
MENUS -- http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=1200 +cal+free+menu+plans+&btnG=Google+Search& amp;aq=f&oq= (you'll have to cut and paste that, but free menus 1200 cals galore)
GOAL clothes -- HECK YEAH. I do that all the time. My swim suit when I went on vacation to Cali. I have to go to prom every year, so I use my dress to get going. or I don't always buy though. go try on clothes at the end and beginning of a season -- scope out what you would love to buy, find the size the fits, and try it on when you go grocery shop. I go to WalMart, but it is an easy way to check yourself.
I saw a lot of "I'm news too" welcome to cc. it rocks. take measurements now before you lose much. sometimes the scale lies, but the inches never do. ( : cheers!
SORRY SO LONG.
Tiny change for me, 77.5kg, 0.5kg down, which is, about a pound, aces! I was pretty bad this week, glad I lost anything at all. Way to go peoples! ^_^
Next week will be even more good, promise.

this was not a good week i gained a pound ....but thats it ........im goona loose 2 by next week .....im 137
So I weighed in yesterday...but since I have been avoiding the scales for a month now I dont have any proguress to report. Yesterday will be my start weight I guess--unfortunately the highest its been in a year (which its when I started CC for the first time...and stuck with it for about 6 months then stopped and did it on my own...then started eating bad again and gained half of the weight back--at least not all of it). Anyway, now I have a start weight and am hoping to lose 8 lbs by my bday Feb 8th! Good luck to all!
and Laeisha...if you are craving a salty snack when you give up your pork rinds...you can try lightly salted rice cakes for only 25-30 cals each! When I did cal count the first time I did really good snacking on carrots with low cal balsamic vinaigrette (25 cals for 2 tbs) or salsa or snacking on fruit. Also--I realized that half of my snacking was just boredom, so when I had the urge to snack but I knew I wasnt hungry (only bored), I made a cup of hot tea (different flavors like peppermint, orange spice, pomegranate, etc) or low cal hot chocolate (30 cals plus added calcium). Maybe that will help you!
