Can I throw my two-cents in and say that Wal-Mart is great too?! I used to hate it but recently I stopped in and couldn't believe how much cheaper the cereal / yogurt / salad / etc....were!

I love Walmart, too.  I go there first, and if I can't get what I need, THEN I go to the grocery store.  I really like Crystal Light, but it's so darned expensive, and Walmart has it's own brand of sugar-free powdered drink that's less than $2.00.  I eat a lot of the Special K cereals and they, too, are so much cheaper.  Happily, my Walmart is going to begin conversion to a super store in the fall.

I love Target for food shopping too! I wish more Super Targerts would pop up! Can you image Target with produce, a bakery, full deli??? That would be so great! There is one somewhere East of Philly near where my brother lives lol. He's luck haha.

I agree with you robin9395 on the Crystal light issue! I LOVE the Great Value brand of it!!! I do all of my grocery shopping at Supar Walmart. I just wish it wasn't 15-20 minutes away! Actually maybe that is a good thing lol

i love target too!! cheese and other dairy is really cheap too, sometimes cheaper than walmart, love their market pantry line.

i'm super excited  that my target in west philly is being converted to super target- yay!!!

Super Walmarts are great for anything except meat (notably beef), cause they only carry "select" grade, not "choice".

The Prima Dela (store brand) deli meats are particularly good (compared to leading brands) and are a couple dollars cheaper than other stores.

The trick is to know when other stores put things on sale, because Walmart doesn't actually put things on sale (they "rollback" prices for a couple of weeks/months), but they comp price to any other company's sale price.

I don't think I've been in a Super Target.

I'll have to try Target sometime as I'm into baking but usually have to go to Whole Foods Market to get some of the whole grains.  Most of the time I go to Walmart but I've found the same fruits and vegetables at the 99¢ Store for $1.-2. less.

Thanks for the info on the Super Walmart stores, Radioactive.  "Select" works for me (I HATE fat on meat).  Actually, I've kind of gotten away from eating much beef since I started this diet, sticking mostly to chicken breast tenders, pork tenderloin and certain seafood.  I'm really looking forward to my Walmart becoming a super store.  There's a Vons (big in California) just a few doors away, so I can compare their weekly ads to find out which has the best deals that week.  Thanks, again, for posting that info.

I don't typically go to Target for food except their sushi, yumm!!!! I used to go to my Walmart Neighborhood Market up until 2 months ago because I found my local Hyvee is cheaper and has better quality on store brand lunchmeat, meat, ww bread, canned stuff, produce and juices compared to walmart (ex: red bell peppers either 99 cents or 2 for 1 dollar) compared to walmart's 2.08 per red pepper. I also do my shopping at Aldi's for milk, baby spinach/romaine lettuce, and produce, depending on how fresh they are.

I heard somewhere that many grocery stores are willing to match deals/ads from other stores but I've never personally tried myself, I guess in fear of looking stupid if I were wrong, lol.

someone mentioned pork tenderloin- put in a crockpot with pineapple juice, pineapples, mandarin oranges, habaneros (or jalapenos), onions, cajun seasoning with cinnamon/allspice/ginger/thyme/nutmeg is pure melt-in-your-mouth heaven! just had to share!
