Why do you love your treadmill?

Quote  |  Reply

There are topics about whats the best for this price and blab blab bla but I want to know what feature do you love the most?

Was it the ipod dock, Ifit cards, size, folding, fan, tv, motor, etc.?

What did you think you needed but never use/didn't matter after all?

Oh and what one do you have?

Well, I have one from Sears.  I can't remember what brand it is...maybe NordicTrack???

I was happy that it could fold-up (although I rarely fold it), and that it could do an incline. I also tested it at the store and made sure it was wide enough and long enough to run on comfortably.

I liked the computer part that kept track of my time/distance and even calories burned although from what I understand it's not terribly accurate.

I also loved having the drink holder.

I don't use the programs/routines in the computer, and I've had to tighten the belts several times.

Also, lately I've been doing weights, and playing on my Wii, so it has most recently bcome a clothes hanger... but that's not it's fault, I just get bored doing the same old thing.

I have a Woodway Desmo S and imo, it's the best home-treadmill on the market. My polar hooks up to it, I watch TV, play movies, and listen to my ipod on it plus I had it custom made to go up to18 mph. If you all don't know about the Woodway Desmo S, look it up. If you are going to invest in a treadmill [albeit this one is a little pricey]..I HIGHLY recommend this one. All their models come with a tank-track...so it's not like running on a typical conveyor belt like treadmill. More like running outside.

OK fitnessgirll

that is the coolest treadmill ever. awsome features, But whole price tag.  $10,330 as a starting price.  No way I could swing that with 3 young kids.  I will have to be my dream treadmill for when they are all grown and done collage.

My treadmill is by far the best becaue it's a sidewalk.

I would totally agree with you, but my sidewalk treadmill  may have given me stress fractures (bone scan Friday, wheee!), so I'm giving it the evil eye at the moment.

The sidewalk is great I'm using it now  but     New england winter + no sidewalks(in some spots) + 3 kids = something inside.  Because if I go alone (kidless) it's after dark (not so safe with ice and cars fling by)

I wear red blinky lights and carry 2 flashlights (I use them as weights)

I beg to differ. :)  Mine is dirt/sand compacted trails in my county forest preserve, and it beats yours hands down, IMO.    MUCH easier on the joints ... and eyes.

Ha! Yup, it rains..guess you haven't heard about us having mudslides! Nah, not afraid of melting..it just messes up my makeup. ;)

I have a Sole F80.  I've had it for almost a year now and my wife an I have logged over 1000 miles on it.  It has the right amount of cushion and operates pretty smoothly.  It was also a decent price.  I think we paid $1400 and it came with a free 15" LCD t.v. and t.v. stand.  After thinking about it for a long time, I decided that I didn't want a t.v. built into the console.  THey're too small and they usually have shorter warranties than the other parts.  The f80 also has a lifetime motor, deck, and frame warranty with a 5 year warranty on everything else.  I've already really grown to like having incline and speed controls on the hand rails.

Some features I don't use are:

The built in fan.

The ipod dock (I have a t.v.)

The heart rate monitor (it will change incline/speed to keep you in a certain zone)

I love my brothers treadmill and use it more then my own is because it has this cool feature that when I set it to fat burn it automatically adjusts the speed and incline to keep my heart rate in the fat burn zone.  He got it used from a gym that was closing a few years back.

I have a nordic trac and I use just the basic feature but love the wireless pulse monitoring feature.
