I love the "Workout Wobbles"
I'm not talking about the jiggles that naturally occur when a person my size attempts to workout. I'm talking about the wobbly feeling you have after you've really worked out HARD. When your legs feel like jello and you can barely lift your arms to turn a door knob or switch on a light. ![]()
In order to get the most out of my workout, I've been giving it 100% when I workout. And I had serious workout wobbles this morning.
I did my jumping jack arm movements very controlled (NO SWINGING) in between all of my strength training to the point where I could barely do one more. (Because of knee problems I can't actually do jumping jacks, but I can do the arm movements while stepping out with alternate feet) My heart rate got up there FOR SURE! I also put a lot of effort into my strength training - using perfect form to the best of my ability.
One of the exercises I had to perform today was a side plank. I don't know if anyone out there has ever tried one of these, but they're brutal. I could only hold the position for 15 seconds at a time, before I had to rest. But then I got back up and did another 15...and so on, until my time was up. That was one of the hardest exercises I've ever had to do.
I feel shaky, I feel weak...but those workout WOBBLES, mostly make me feel STRONG!!!
Good for you....those will pay off in the end!
workout wobbles?!?! lol you should copyright that for sure!! any way keep up the good work!!!
Ugh! I hate that feeling....I kinda like the slightly sore feeling and the energized feeling but not the wobbles. I feel like I've done something wrong when it gets to that point. More power to ya'!
Haha, I know what you mean. It sounds pretty masochistic, but I love it when everything hurts, even just straightening my arms or legs. :D
Oh my-- side planks are KILLERS for me. I am really an upper body weakling so I think your 15 seconds of "up" time is fabulous. I'm lucky to make it to 10.
YES!
If by workout wobbles you mean the ab aches and the sore arms and legs, I love them. They hurt like anything the next day when I wake up but a few more days at the gym and I start feeling better. No pain no gain :-)
I love the workout wobbles! To me it feels like a forgot how to walk. Especially after doing squats, leg presses, and leg curls.
Along the same lines, is the weak feeling in your arms when you try to wash in the shower. The bar of soap goes from 5 ounces to 5 lbs.
EXACTLY!!! That's what I'm talking about. When you can barely lift the scrunchy in the shower to wash, because you've worked your arms so hard. I have to climb a flight of stairs after I workout (I workout in my basement) and that flight of stairs after doing a leg workout...is quite a challenge. LOL

Exactly! I always get that after spin class, or when I slow down from a long run. I also can't have really hot showers after a workout, or my blood pressure drops and I feel like I'm going to pass out, so I have a warm shower and bask in the fact that my body feels used.
hahah I love those wobbles as well! :)
But oh boy, when I came back from the holidays with an extra 6 pounds on me, did I feel like 'other' workout wobbles. Was not pleasant, but very very motivating!
I know exactly how you feel. I just started a body tranformation class 2 weeks ago and my arms feel like jello and my ass hurts like hell. Today we worked lots on our plank. We had to go up on our hands and then down on our elbows over and over while holding the plank. Now my stomach is hurting as well. I know it will eventually pay off.
I getting all wobbly in my knees after ellipticalling for too long, and the ellipticals are on the 2nd floor of my gym!!! It's actually kind of scary lol but I just hold tight to the handrails.
