low blood pressure

My 14 year old daughter is very athletic. She stands at 5'2 and weighs a generous 110. She participated in a cross country meet this past Saturday and after running half of the course she passed out. When the paramedics reached her....about 20 minutes or so.....her blood pressure was 80/60. After sitting in the hospital for 4 hours it finally rose to 110/69. This is not the first time that this has occurred. She gets very faint or dizzy every time that she runs, and her breathing is very labored. She has been in track for three years now and knows the breathing techniques but for some reason these do not work for her. I have tried and tried to get her to try something else but running is what she loves. She played on the basketball team last year... and again after the running from the drills she had to sit down. I am naturally worried but was wondering if there is just a simple answer? She does have a doctor appointment, and a referral for an echo on her heart......and all of her blood and urine tests were normal. Do I have a cause for fear or am I just a paranoid mom?

i have low blood pressure also...my doctor didnt seem too worried when she saw this though.  Its not uncommon for  very atheltic and anorexic/bulemic folk to have a low Bp..i'm not anorexic or bulemic by any means but I work out intensely 7 days a weak for at least 1hr so ..it does lower bp.

i wouldnt worry too much about it. just be sure shes taking in adequate nutrition.

Honestly I ran track.  And low blood pressure is normal for avid runners.  Even now being overweight I am still about 115/68 or so.

I think the issue maybe more with carb/food intake before running.  I have seen a lot of runners pass out because they didn't eat well the day before a match or the day of.  You have to eat a good balance of carbs...etc.  Maybe the issue is with food intake especially seeing she is only 110lbs.
