Low Blood Pressure Solutions??
My BP is low most of the time. Last time I saw my Dr. a couple of weeks ago, he said it should rise during exercise. Mine does not most of the time. It stays low even though I am sweating like crazy and HR of 125 or more. He thought maybe my BP machine is screwy. I have had all my heart tests (EKG, Echo, enzymes, etc. ) All came out good, so he gave me the OK to exercise all I want. Now I am weight lifting and BP is still low. Anyone know what this is about or had similar experience? Right now it is 82/65 HR 59 and when I get through exercising it is usually at 96/67 HR 127 (takes a couple minutes to get the machine to finish figuring). My husband just took his and it is normal, so must not be the machine. OMG..I want to work out today and do not want to call the DR. I don't have to go back to see him until September except for blood draws which is a first in a long time! HELP!
Sorry I can't really help you but I'm curious about this as well. I have really low blood pressure as well (though my doctor says this is typical for teenaged girls).
I know eating foods high in sodium is bad for those with high blood pressure; could it possibly be good for those with low?
I have low BP too, but it wasn't naturally like that before my ED. ugh.
Anyway, back on topic, low BP really isn't an issue unless you're having obvious symptoms- diziness, blackouts, etc.
If you're not feeling anything from it, consider yourself lucky that you don't have to deal with high blood pressure =]
However, using more salt is recommended to help it, obviously, & if you do have the symptoms, go see a doctor.

Heh. I actually never had low blood pressure naturally either before my disordered eating (never officially diagnosed), either. Even during my binging extravaganza periods after, I still remained low.
Recently, I got the Gardasil vaccine and fainted from it; my doctor said it was probably due to my low blood pressure but that it wasn't really anything to worry about. I also said that I felt kind of light-headed and out of breath, to which she said to exercise more.
Low blood pressure is not a bad thing unless you are having symptoms like gadzooks said, watch for obvious symptoms light headed, dizzy, etc
otherwise low blood pressure is probably due to the fact that you are very active from what I can gather. your cardiovascular system is working well DO NOT do things like adding more salt to your diet to increase it,
some people just run low, work out when you want just stop if you begin to get dizzy, lightheaded, weak, etc.
If you experience nausea, dizziness, etc etc, such as what was said above, ask your doctor.
Anecdote: When I started giving blood, my blood pressure shot up to 137/85, and my pulse shot up, probably due to to the release of adrenaline. It's the only time I've ever read a hypertensive reading (even two hours after I've binged McDonalds!)
A couple of years ago, I went to the doctor feeling lots of heart palpitations, lightheadedness, dizzy and disconnected. Come to find out, I've got low BP and now I have to take medication for it but only when it gets so low that it causes the palps and other symptoms. My cardiologist also suggested a diet of steady small meals and LOTS of salt. He said to add salt to everything and cut out sugar. Completely. Or almost completely. It definitely helped get me through the bad spells. There were days I was so weak that I couldn't get out of bed!
Maybe you don't want to see the doctor but I would say if you have any concerns you should definitely check with a specialist.
