hah... i know there's no such thing... however, it's the weekend and i'm going to drink regardless... just wondering if there are any particular mixed drinks that might be relatively better than most as far as calorie intake goes. any alcohols i should avoid?
Try to stay with clear liquor (vodka, lite rum) with diet coke (about 64 calories if mixed w. diet coke). Light beer is about 100 calories per bottle (give or take a few calories but all brands are low carbs). Basically try to stick w. simpler drinks so you know whats in them...
Hope that helps :)
Plus, I find it helps me NOT be hung over the next day because you aren't drinking tons of sugar!
I like to mix vodka a little bit of light OJ and top it off with diet 7up. There was a study done that people get drunker faster mixing with diet sodas.

Vodka is probably your best bet.
Instead of a screwdriver, have an orange-flavored vodka with soda (as in club soda, not soda-pop), and perhaps a splash of oj. Much lighter, much less sugar. That's my summer drink.
I used to be a Jack and Diet Coke girl, myself ... and I still am in the colder months, it's hard to drink whiskey (for me) when it is warm out. Vodka is light and clean, doesn't make me feel dragged down or heavy.
Diet A&W Root Beer with Vanilla Vodka
Diet Pepsi Jazz Black Cherry/French Vanilla with Vanilla Vodka
Diet Sunkist with Bacardi O
Diet Sprite with Bacardi Razz
i can't do screwdrivers (bad expierince in high school), haha.... but that orange vodka and soda sounds really yummy! (and not too sweet)
i'm usually more of a whiskey kinda gal (soco and lime is actually my normal drink of choice)... but i'll bring back the vodka for a bit....i will def. stick to the diet sodas though. Thanks!
Here is a link from awhile back that has some info. Hope it helps and Happy Friday everyone!

You will not find anything lower in calories than pure grain alcohol (PGA, Everclear) and any kind of diet soda. Vodka is easier to find in some places, I think. I knew a guy who used to keep bottles of both under his car seat for emergencies.
This would all have been -before you were even born-! Well, "Youth's a stuff will not endure."
It will be interesting to see if you were able to stick entirely to the stuff, as your judgment will then be impaired to some degree.
I haven't thought about PGA in years. Now I'll have to see if our nearest liquer store carries it, lol, just for the fun of it and maybe to revisit my youth.
In the warmer months, I like Vodka and Tonic or light beer. In the cooler months I'm more a bourbon/whiskey girl, either with coke or water. I'm not a big fan of diet coke, so if I'm gonna splurge, it's gonna be on the 'Real Thing'.....classic coke all the way. I haven't had a coke in over 3 weeks, nothing but water or skim milk.
budget friendly: smirnoff
all out GREAT" grey goose or skyy
do not be fooled into thinking that the most expensive vodka is necessarily the best. Smirnoff is just fine especially for mixing .and very budget friendly.. and they offer flavor varieties, as does Absolut (which is pricier, to pay for their amazing ads!!!) Among the higher-priced vodkas I have not noticed much of a difference in quality ... they are all good (Grey Goose, Finlandia) - I had a friend in my clubbing days who always bought Grey Goose because it had a pretty bottle!!
In my opinion, the best, if you just want to have a couple of REALLY good drinks and not mix up a beer cooler full of jungle juice ...
Ketel One. Goooooood stuff.
Vodka & Diet Sprite
Red Bull Sugar Free and cherry vodka (yum!)
An "adult" Cherry Coke: 1 oz. cherry vodka, Diet Coke, and 1 tsp. grenadine (84 calories)
"Adult" Shirley Temple: see above, sub Diet Sprite for Diet Coke
Jack & Diet Coke
Rum & Diet Coke
Just stay away from frozen drinks and drinks with juices, since they are high in calories.
As for vodka varieties, my favorite is Three Olives Cherry Vodka. Flavored vodka is usually a lower proof than regular vodka, so it has fewer calories. It is super yummy, too. I have Finlandia in my liquor cabinet, and I like the taste over Skyy or Smirnoff. I like Grey Goose, but I thought it wasn't worth the money. However, the guy who manages the liquor store at my local Costco told my husband that the Kirkland Signature vodka is really Grey Goose. $20 for 1.75 liters! You can't beat it. Honestly, liquor is probably a big reason why I have my Costco membership...
Edit: Melaniebelle, A&W with vanilla vodka sounds so good! I will try that.
