Recipe Ingredients for Low Cal linguine with clam sauce

12 oz linguine,whole wheat
3 tablespoons butter
5 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup dry white wine
8 oz clam juice
13 oz clams, minced, canned,undrained(2 /6.5oz cans)
1 cup chopped parsley, fresh
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 black pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Low Cal linguine with clam sauce

  1. Cook and drain linguine according to package directions, omitting salt and fat.

  2. Add butter and garlic to pan and saute 2 minutes

  3. Add the remaining ingredients except linguine to the pan and simmer for 10 minutes

  4. Serve over the linguine

  5. Suggestion: garnish with freshly grated parmesan cheese but need to add in the extra calories if you do.

  6. Also, a small bunch of chopped spring onions could be sauteed with the garlic for an extra layer of flavor.

  7. Serving suggestions: small piece of french bread and a green salad.
