Hello. I don't really have time to make a breakfast in the morning. I have to get my 10 month old son ready, and make my own lunch and my boyfriend's lunch and run out the door. I sometimes stop and get a whole wheat bagel w/ cream cheese, but that usually ends up being the majority of my calories for the day.
Does anyone know a quick breakfast that I would be able to grab in the morning that doesn't have too many calories? Or something that takes maybe less than a couple of minutes to make? Thanks!!

This morning I had Kashi GoLean Instant Creamy Vanilla hot cereal (oatmeal is my usual, and it's fantastic too) with 1/2 cup of blueberries and about 100 cals worth of walnuts. The hot cereal takes 80 seconds in the microwave, blueberries/walnuts don't require cutting, and it's filling, quick, and between 250 and 300 cals (depending on fruit and nut portions). You can cut the walnuts to save 100 cals, but I find that the fat/protein helps keep me going until lunch.
Hi, I have a three month old son. I have to get him ready and dropped off at grandma's house before work. I usually take Multi Grain Cheerios (1 cup) and a banana (or other fruit) to work with me and eat once I get there. It's quick and fairly low cal. The Cheerios also have 100% of 10 vitamins and minerals. I hate milk, so I eat them dry. That drives my husband crazy. He packs a thermos of milk to mix with his cereal. Also, if I have time, I make oatmeal (only 110 calories) and have that at home. I also like Nutri-Grain cereal bars, but those have 140 calories per bar. I usually eat one of those for a snack in the afternoon depending on how many calories I have left for the day.
Toast w/peanut butter.
Yogurt w/granola
Glass of OJ
fruit
egg & toast only takes a couple minutes.

Maybe that's the time for a nutrition bar. I hear that Luna bars are good and they're onlh 120 calories. Some of the others are in the 200 to 250 range. It would be fast and no clean up either.
I have a fresh fruit smoothy almost every morning, I cut up all my fruit on the weekends and portion it out in zip lock bags. You can also use some fat free yogurt, or juice (i use orange) to mix it up a little bit. Just toss it in the blender, it only takes a minute :o)
I Don't like going over 300 calories for breakfast EVER. I usually stick with a bowl of cereal with some fruit thrown in. Something around 250 calories. This way I save my calories for the meals I'm awake enough to enjoy :)
Kellogs special K cereal bar - 90 cals, 1.5 grms fat, 17grams carbs, 1 gram of proteins
1 peach - 38 calories
maybe 1/2 cup of skim milk of string cheese for some proteins

PowerBar chocolate peanut fusion.
Or
Mixed nuts and an apple with some chocolate milk. (be warned, people will think you're strange for eating peanuts for breakfast. I can eat tuna fish for breakfast!)
These things really fill me up and I grab them on the way out the door.

Pria Power Bars are awesome. Only 110 calories and the French Vanilla Crisp is great. I keep a few in my purse. Even my 4 year old likes them. They are good for breakfast in a pinch. Luna Bars are good too, but twice the calories.
I usually have a fruit smoothy consisting of strawberries, fresh squeezed oj, blueberries, non fat froz yogurt, banana and ice blended with an energy powder. I get it at a local coffee shop called Perky's - its called a 'Perk me Up' and a 16 oz one is 244 cals.
another vote in support of some kind of bar... i've found that the kashi roll ones are GREAT. high protein (12g) for 190 cals that actually LAST.... as in, you won't feel hungry an hour later. the only downside is that they can be expensive....
This is what I had for breakfast today - 3 hardboiled egg whites, 1
waffle, 1/4 cup low-fat cottage cheese, 1/2 cup Fiber One cereal, 1/2
cup skim milk.

Hard boiled egg and a yogurt
or
An apple with a TBSP of Peanutbutter
or
half cup of low fat cottage cheese and a yogurt
or
bean salad and a yogurt (make a big batch of salad and store in individual cups)
or
Kashi Go Lean oatmeal
Seems I eat yogurt with breakfast often. Gotta love individual cups!
