Low calorie chocolate fix suggestions?
I have to have some chocolate every day to satisfy my cravings, but I like to get as much in with as minimal calories as possible.
So far Mars Bars have been the best because of all the different layers and they're so chunky and filling they really hit the spot. They weigh in at around 250Kcal though
I've also had bars of Terry's Choc Orange (214Kcal) and Picnic (240ish), which have been okay.
Thing is, they have to be individually wrapped bars or I eat the whole lot. I have been thinking about buying choc cakes but they tend to be v high in calories and not as chocolate rich.
I am going to try darker chocolate next, but does anyone have any suggestions?

Kit Kats all the way! And only 100 calories, lots of flavours to choose from. They're my friday treat/
Make a no pudge single portion brownie:
95 calories
mix together:
1 T whole wheat flour
1 T sugar
1 T cocoa powder
pinch of salt
pinch of baking soda
mix in around 1 T (or enough to completely moisten) of either fat free yogurt (any flavor) or unsweetened applesauce.
Microwave for just over a minute.

yeah! i love chocolate too, i have to have some type of it everyday...i usually eat fiberone oats & chocolate chewy granola bars. they are the best! they have 9g of fiber at 140 cals a bar. i also snack on the chocolate rice cake chips. there pretty tasty as well. hmm...oh yeah, special k chocolate delight cereal. its great and 120 cal per serving.
sometimes when i get a late night chocolate craving i make some 25 cal hot chocolate. it gets the job done sparing me those extra calories.
good luck!

I just get those mini snack packs of my favourites. That way you get two or three bites but you don't get any guilt. My weakness is Snickers.
Hershey's has a line of "Single Origin" chocolates and you can get some of them in the individually wrapped squares that come in a bag. They also have some dark chocolate bars that come with dried fruits & nuts in them. Yummo!
I buy reduced sugar/fat-free frozen yogurt and add 1/2 cup chocolate milk for a shake. It's hard to make suggestions if you tend to eat whatever you buy (I am that way with pastries), especially bc the fun size bars are the perfect amount for fitting into calories. There's a deli by me that sells sweets, baked good, candies and could buy a small piece of fudge or 1 truffle. Jello chocolate pudding cups are good too =)
mini flakes are good, the treat size ones
I like to get the 70-72% cacao dark chocolate bars and stick them in the freezer. They are rich, decadent, and chocolatey and rich enough that you only need a small chunk. I recently bought Ghiradelli (sp?) Twilight Delight bar because it was on sale at the market, and for 3 big squares it's 200 calories. I usually only need 1, if that, to satisfy my craving. Plus being in the freezer they take forever to eat! I let them sit on my tongue and melt away... Mmm.
The other options I have are York Peppermint Patties in the freezer. They're 160 calories for a whole large one (or get the mini ones, those are 50-55 cals a peice) and a refreshing, rich, cold summer treat! Also the Tofutti Cuties icecream sandwiches are 120-140 cals and have many varities. Those are also awesome.
The last thing I suggest is just to second the hot cocoa idea. Diet Swiss Miss packets are 25 cals a peice. Make it with water (just as good) or with some skim or soy milk and it's delish! Put it over ice in the summer, or blend with some bananas and milk in a smoothie. Mmm!

If you like pretzels, which are low in calories....
Melt about 30 dark chocolate chips in a microwave bowl for a few seconds with a few drops of water...may take 10-30 seconds but check often and stir...when melted, dip in pretzels...yum!

Vita Muffin Brownies or chcolate muffin tops are really good, especially heated in the microwave with 2 tbsp of fat free cool whip and a few sliced strawberries--all for under 150 calories! Here's the link:

Wow those vitamuffins look amazing - where can you get them? Unfortunately I'm in the UK and I haven't come across those before...
I don't know about getting a hit from small things as I think part of the satisfaction is knowing you've just scoffed something *huge* if you know what I mean :oP But yeah I think I'll try some dark stuff - i think its better for you anyway.
I also really like the personal brownie recipe and will have to try that one soon!

CHOCOLATE MINI MILKS! 30 CALS a stick
I love dark chocolate hershey kisses, it's amazing how if you just suck on one it totally cures my craving for chocolate.
Kraft makes a refrigerated pudding (it's not with the other pudding, make sure you look in the fridge! - sorry, sometimes people miss this and wonder where it is) that comes in chocolate/vanilla (I'm eating the vanilla one right now!). It's 60 calories per cup, sugar free, and I forgot what the fat is, but it's something low. The best part is, it doesn't taste like a "diet" snack and still has a bit of a 'heavy' pudding consistancy so you feel like you're really eating something.
I used to keep a bag of M & Ms on my desk..but I know waht you mean about needing it individually wrapped or else you'll eat a lot. Keep a bag of M&Ms at your house and then bring a little ziplock, of say, 25, or however many you're allowing yourself. Then you can eat the whole thing, but not have had too much!
There are also 100 calorie packs of cookies called Thinsations (they're called something else in the States but I don't remember what), and they come in a bunch of flavours. The Oreo one is only the cookie part, and while it's just chocolate, I find the Chips Ahoy one much tastier and more successful in satisfying my craving.
Hope that helps!

Droste does 26 cal dark (70%) chocolate buttons - sooo yummy and easily have 2 and be satisfied
mars does mini mars lights for 68 cal - but not really worth it.
Have you tried hot chocolate?
Cadbury light is ok, but only a small reduction in cals
I also like hunts fat free pudding heated - 90 cals and VERy chocolatey

certified chocoholic ( :
there are a million different flavors of sugar free, 60 cal jello pudding cups now --yay!-- chocolate mint, mochaccino, banana fudge supreme, also caramel (I mixed it with apples and cinnomon = taco bell empanada!), dulce de leche (caramel + vanilla) and of course, plain vanilla and chocolate, but dang!!! And they are all gooooooood. Personal fave--mint and the coffee choc one, but I can;t wait to try the new banana one. ( :
sugar free hot chocolate has hit the spot lately--25 cals and hot so I have to drink it slow...I modified a cheesecake recipe to make it like malted milk ball (Whoppers) flavor (40 cals) holler if you want that recipe.... Um, I make the same cheese cake about 18 cals with sugar free fruity jello.... I smear the mini cheesecakes on top of mini caramel rice cakes sometimes which ROCKS! Or with frozen lite whip cream which tastes like vanilla ice cream to me....
Is it just chocolate we're talking about or sweet treats? ( :

I really like the Weight Watchers little chocolate cakes. They're great if you're in the mood for something like a HoHo. Only 85 calories a piece, and they usually hit the spot for me. The only downside is that they're a little expensive.
sugar free fudgecicles have about 40 cals for the one stick pops. very good, cant tell they are sugar free.
sugar free hot cocoa if you dont have any try cocoa powder, ff non dairy creamer or milk and splenda.
sugar free chocolate syrup with frozen bananas or fruit, ff cool whip?

Olivia--I'd love that recipe...

sure thing ( ; I think I included everything in the recipe I'll paste below, but if not, holler! I am also alwaya hip to hearing new versions other peopel come up with! ( :
****Whoppers**** Chocolate Cheesecake
(Malted Milk Ball)
It's in my recipes. Can you get to those? um,
2 cups low fat or fat free cottage cheese 320
1 packet unflavored gelatin 20
2 packets sugar free hot chocolate 25 each
sweetener to taste (4 each)
1 capful vanilla extract (20
I mixed the h.c. with 3/4 cup water, hot from the microwave. (I think I would do a full cup next time to see if I could squeeze 2 or 3 more cheesecakes out of it.) Stir until mixed, then stir in gelatin while it is still hot. Dump cottage cheese into blender, then h.c./gelatin mix. Blend until all c.c. lumps are gone. Pour into 12 cupcake foils or I know other people use cheesecake pie pans, you know. I like the single serving thing for myself. Keeps me from going crazy. ( ; Allow regular amount set up time, couple of hours? I like them with a little whip cream (esp. frozen like ice cream) or as spread on my mini caramel rice cakes, YUM 40 calories each and endless possibilities!!!!
I've used strawberry which was simpler and only 18 cals each -- that one is just the same cottage cheese, and just mix 1/2 cup hot from the micro water with any flavor sugar free jello, then quickly get it all blended smooth and pour into cupcake foils. MY only caveat would be to warn you that whatever color the jello is equals the color of your cheesecake. ( : I took these to a guy friend's birthday party, and they were disturbingly pink.
LOL ( : We laughed.
I think next time I would try a plain old vanilla one with a few strawberries or peaches on top---blueberries, bananas, watermelon, the list goes on and on. I also think the trick of these little buggers is to get the flavoring right before you quit-----I tasted the chocolate ones the first time and thought YUCK, but I added a few more sweeteners and elected at that point to add the second hot chocolate packet to make the kind of chocolate intensity I wanted. I think if I had had some sugar free Hershey's, I would have stuck with one packet and a few tsps of that. YUM! Keep tasting the stuff in the blender until it tastes good 'cause the flavor is not changing once it's in the fridge.
Hope you enjoy! ( : Olivia
