Not really, but you can boost the nutritional value by using whole-wheat, rye, soy, nut, barley, etc. flours that are higher in fiber than all-purpose

ah yes, i did a google hunt the other day (i love to bake and try to ubstitute lots of ingredients for healthier ones) for alternatives to flour. anyway, a lot of kind of wheat free and/or non-gluton products came up but when i looked in the supermarket they were roughly the same calories. i just use wholewheat flour and reason that at least i'm getting a little more nutritional value from those calories.

Flour is a really simple one-ingredient product... ground wheat.  It's tough to reformulate these good honest foods the same way as you can't produce a 'low-fat banana' or a 'low carb parsnip'.   Heavily processed junk can be reformulated which is why it's wise never to trust a food making a health claim Smile

When it comes to baking, don't spoil your hard work by compromising on the ingredients.  Just enjoy the end product in smaller quantities than you may have done in the past.  Then it's healthy.

I have good news for you I know of three low calorie flour two of which are defatted soy flour and low carb cocanut flour wich you can both get at dixie diners club I can't give you the link but type it in to google and it sould come up the cocanut flour they offer is low calorie then the soy. the last flour is the lowest its also the hardest to find it is low calorie Jerusilim artichoke tuber flour not tobe confused with regular artichoke flour again not easy to find type it in to google and you'll find it thought but yikes it has a huge price tag. good luck
