Home made broccoli or cauliflower soup- low-fat, low-cal & filling!

mhhh yummy!!!!!!!!

Well, any food can be low calorie in the right portion size, so I'll go with chocolate:  1 Ghiradelli dark chocolate square is only about 60 cals.

But since it's getting to be warmer, I've had a thing for strawberries - a huge bowl of them is less than 100 cals, and topped with cool whip free, a wonderfully filling dessert.

Yeah? I've never been too keen on strawberries! I like blueberries better! haha

Salsa! Unfortunately I like it best with chips or as a topping for enchiladas or the like, which makes it not so low-cal. But I love it on salads and other veggies too.

And cantaloupe is quickly becoming a favorite. And cucumbers and bell peppers and broccoli.

I love blueberries too - but trying to choose between all the varieties of fresh berries would be kind of hard.  I went with strawberries if for no other reason than because it's less expensive to get a huge bowl full of them.  However, frozen blueberries are the BEST addition to a smoothie I've ever had - turns it nice and purple when mixed with the strawberries, and the flavor is wonderfull.  Smile

i've always enjoyed "good" food (low-cal or not), but what i've noticed is that i'm not enjoying "bad" food nearly as much as i used to.  things like potato chips and breaded chicken wings just aren't as satisfying as they used to be ;-)

It's the same for me. Chips... they're just not good enough to be worth teh calories! hahaha

mh.... that sounds delicious! It's quite hard to buy blueberries in spain ! not as easy as in the US! hehe

yogurt! dannon light and fit is amazing! fruit of any kind!!! hummus! omg hummus=love!

all kinds of vegetables in huge portions. once i ate an ENTIRE cauliflower (raw) and looked like i was preggo for the rest of the day :)

1) "light bread". turns any sandwich into a much lower calorie choice.

2) any kind of fruit

3) mini bags of popcorn! I love em!

Old fav was fresh tomatoes.

I know this isn't healthy... but I love TGI-Friday's Spinach dip... you know, the frozen stuff? It's my true weakness. Anyone have a good low-cal version of that? I miss it!!!

I love sushi! By making it myself, I can control exactly how many calories I have.

Tomato sandwiches! Especially this time of year with fresh tomatoes... yummm

ohio45, do you roast your asparagus in the oven or on the grill?

I have been on a huge kick of having grilled (some may call it roasted) bell peppers.  Sometimes I eat 2 whole peppers.  I prefer the yellow and orange but the green and red are good too.  I just clean them and drizzle a very small amount of evoo on them and throw them on the grill with my chicken breast.  Cook until your desired doneness.   I have even done this when I was out of evoo and they taste fine, just a tendency to stick a bit.
