6 cashews would piss me off! Ha!!!
anything with high fiber will work, I usually have kellggs all bran flakes after dinner...or you can always eat as much raw vegetables (w/out dip) as it takes!
apples apples and apples! the fiber always keeps me filled up :D
haha shill....ME TOO!
If I'm going for volume I chop up a head of romaine lettuce, add a tbsp or two of low cal ceaser dressing mixed with a dollop of grain mustard (livens it up) and dash of parmesan. One big bowl...about 100-150 cal depending on your dressing etc, and I can munch on it for a good hour.
FRUIT!
Citrus fruits actually make me hungrier!
Apples, low fat cheese, peaunt butter, lf or ff cottage cheese & fruit, raw veggies and hummus, Cambell's Soup at Hand Veggie Medley
i like grabbing a whole or even half red grapefruit. it's about 100 cals for a whole one--and they're big pieces of fruit. plus, if you slice it in half and eat the sections with a spoon, without cutting them first with a grapefruit knife, it makes you eat it A LOT slower so you'll give your stomach time to feel full.
for me a great big bowl of raw trimmed and cleaned green beans.
You can even serve a low fat low cal dip with them. I think it is the crunch factor. When they are cold crisp and fresh they crunch beautifully!

I made a huge batch of mashed cauliflower last night. I planned to eat that with some left over pork, and ended up only getting to half of the pork that I put on my plate because I ate the cauliflower first and was full! Stayed full until bed time too.
I used 2 heads of cauliflower, steamed them, then mashed them with a potato masher. Added a 3 tablespoons of brummel & brown spread, 2 table spoons of half and half, and salt and pepper. The whole batch only has about 400 calories and it made a ton. I will be eating it for days.

I eat carrots like a MANIAC. I love carrots though. Carrots rule.
Carrots are good, but watch out for baby carrots, they are unexpectedly
high in sugar. I usually eat raisins and low salt dry roasted peanuts
mixed together. Sweet and salty they can take care of two cravings at
once!
I like veggies and fruits, too. I drink alot of water and I keep sugar free gum handy for those times when I feel really famished at work but don't want to eat. Soup is great when I want something hot. It is hard eating cold things all the time. It's very easy to make homemad soup. I loved the article. Thanks!
Waterphoenix....hate to rain on your parade- but I looked up comparison of 15gram of baby carrots- .7gram sugar- that's Point 7 grams and yet 14 grams of seedless raisins has 8.3 grams of sugar.... and raisins stick to your teeth which can lead to tooth decay.... Just thought I'd let you know :-).
Jen -I'm not saying they were better or lower in sugar. I said
that I like carrots too but to watch out for the baby carrots as
apposed to regular. I mentioned the raisins and peanuts because they
can help with cravings too.... oh and tooth decay isn't a big problem
when you brush you teeth 4 times a day. (what can I say it's
complusive.)
A big bowl of steamed cauliflower (or brocolli) with parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Yum.........fills me up for hours.
celery stick with peanut butter is very filling and crunchy
and I love homemade veggie soup :D
