Really Low Calorie Ice Cream???
I keep hearing about Arctic Zero products and the miracle Wow Cow...has anyone else heard of these?
I never heard of that! Dang! I want to give that a try! Too bad they don't have any in my area
They have it on amazon.....but how will they ship frozen foods? O.o
Frozen food items are generally shipped in styrofoam containers with dry ice. Hope this is helpful.
I was wondering whether it actually tasted good. Hungry Girl's website talks about a little...
I just checked and Amazon has it. Cost is $46.11 (including shipping and handling) for six pints. That's almost $8 a pint. Yikes!! But a whole pint of chocolate peanut butter is only 128 calories.
im in luv with arctic zero. All flavors are good especially the chocolate and choc/pb. The strawberry and banana flavor taste like a starburst sherbet which is just yummy. The vanilla is good and i find the maple flavor in it is quite strong. I love eating the ice cream with cheerios or kix.

How does it compare to regular ice cream?
And Robin9395, Thanks! I never knew that.

Icecream goes up to $30 a pint here. Americans get everything so cheap!

Just food. I dunno why it is, but I heard some stat like it's only 10 percent of an American budget, but averages 18 percent of a European's.
in the mean time you can make a quicky version with...
ice shaver/blender
some milk/soy milk
splenda and fruit.
Mix it all together. Try to use at least 1% fat milk because skim will just make it taste like water.
Different from ice cream but I like my shaved ice without syrups! It's a adaption from korean version of shaved ice without the red bean syrup stuff... Just put in a lot of fruit.

Yeah, something like that... I've heard 5-10% for the US but the national average is about 25% of income where I live.
You're very welcome, darkbeam. I occasionally order food from an online site, so I was familiar with how they shipped it. Might have to try Arctic Zero now. ![]()

hmmm...maybe try it with cocoa powder and a banana for a different variation.
or maple syrup and almond extract
how about adding in a fruit flavored yogurt to make the texture smoother?
I've been wanting to try this product since I heard about it on HG. I'm a huge ice cream fanatic, however, there is no way in hell I am paying 46 some odd dollars to have it shipped to me. I love ice cream, but my wallet apparently doesn't! Not for that price. Ha Ha.
I guess it's good to want things.....*adds it to dream list. Ha Ha.
I posted a question about this product a few months back. Didn't get much response then. Maybe it's becoming more popular now. I agree it's a little nuts to spend $46 to have it shipped. I'm hoping it will start to be available in more local stores so I can try just one pint first.

It has a lot to do with corn subsidies - which mean that, in many cases, Americans pay less for food than it cost to grow/make it. This is especially true for animal products (since those farms can buy food for the animals for less than it cost to grow the food) and processed foods. This may seem like a good thing, but most of the savings get eaten up by middle-men companies and only a small fraction get passed along to the consumer. It's also why eating healthy seems relatively expensive to many Americans - there aren't any subsidies for fresh fruit and vegetables.
I tried Arctic Zero, Chocolate and Vanilla. It's just not worth it. Both have this weird after taste, bleh. The Chocolate is more tolerable then Vanilla. The Wow-Cow is actually a frozen yogurt. Compared to regular non-fat it is very icy and also has a weird after taste. For some low cal alternatives Dreyers yogurt blends are awesome.

Thanks much. I won't waste my money.
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
