I know fruits are good to eat but what are some foods that are low in calories & carbs that have some protein that are good for when you need some football-watching food?..
Vegetables and a meaty dip? Maybe hummus? Or beef jerky!
Cubed turkey breast. Put a bunch of toothpicks by the plate and you're good to go. Maybe mix in some diced ham and seasoned tofu.
Hard Boiled Eggs
Nori Sheets
Vegetable Crudite (bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, celery, etc --- dipped in mustard or olive tapenade)
Turkey or Chicken Breast Sliced & Wrapped around Vegetable Crudite - just make sure the turkey/chicken is not processed & full of chemicals!
Great ideas.. I love beef jerkey, only thing with me is I have a hard time not eatin the whole thing of something I buy.. Like I'll never be satiated but I do need to eat.. It's weird I never used to be like that but its been striking me lately.. I'll just need a couple bites of something but when I start eating stopping is difficult..
Beef jerky can be a great snack and usually not too bad even if you eat the whole bag - afterall, it's usually no more than a 6oz bag anyway. It is a low fat food.
I make my own two-three times a year. About 30 pounds at a time, my niece and nephew tell me that is all they want for xmas because it is so good.
Deli meat wrapped around cheese is a good option, stay away from the crackers and chips, they are not good.
I have really gotten into Babybel light cheese wedges, 50 calories about 3 fat and I think 6 protein and they keep you from overdoing a snack attack.
Also a glass of Unsweetend chocolate almond milk curbs my sweet snack tooth and since it has some fat in it, i stay satisfied.
Cucumbers and salsa- You can eat a lot of that and still keep your calories down.
Cottage cheese, half fat cheese sticks or wedges, half fat or low fat greek yoghurt. Jerky, as has been said, though watch the salt. Homemade tzatziki, salsa and hummus are all very easy to make and by making it yourself you can control what goes in there, such as making your tzatziki with a lower fat yoghurt base. Crudites for dipping - carrot, peppers, cucumber.
