Low carb snack ideas

Quote  |  Reply

Anyone have any of these?? I'm going camping tomorrow, and we're having lobster for supper, but I don't know what to take for snacks. The only thing I came up with is boiled eggs. I don't have any vegetables around..

Why low carb?  Carbs aren't evil.  Anyway, since you have no veggies available, try:

  • almonds or other nuts
  • 1 oz. portions of cheese
  • can of tuna (or salmon or other fish)

Mmmmmm.......

cheese sticks

turkey pepperoni

slices of deli meat

besides nuts there are also seeds

- canned fish - or the easy open pouch fish - salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel, shrimp, crab, etc...

- cherry tomatoes

- bell peppers

- olives

- celery & cucumbers

- blanched asparagus&/or green beans

- nori sheets

- sesame seeds

- sliced turkey or chicken breast

All good sugestions....

What do you snack on at home when you're not camping?  Take that... if you can cook lobster for a camping trip...surely you can eat some of the same snacks that you eat on a regular basis?

Hulled sunflower or pumpkin seeds, they are pretty calorie dense but take a while to eat.

One of my favorite snacks is dry cereal.  I pick Cheerios or Special K with chocolate pieces, measure it and snack away.  If you eat it (like 2 Cheerios at a time) it lasts a long time which is a bonus!  I like to buy the round bowl like containers because it's measured all ready for me.  For instance the 1.3 oz container I have has 140 calories but like I say, it takes awhile to consume those calories so it is well worth it to me.
