Are low-carb yogurts even yogurt?

Quote  |  Reply

I ate one today, and it tastes like regular yogurt, but it has fiber and only 3 sugars!  How does that work?

who knows, I've had them before and thought they taste off! I assume the ingredient list must be full of chemicals.

Nothing beats regular stonyfield yogurt!

As a HUGE fan of Dannons low carb yogurts (I alternate between them and ff plain greek) I actually dont think they can be called yogurts due to them maybe not having enough active yogurt cultures.

I have my blueberry one next to me and the ingredients seem pretty much the same as in the dannon light n fits and yoplait lights, just not active yogurt cultures (it does have some)

Look like its mostly milk cultures and cream.

they add fiber and other additives to it.  its really not a 'yogurt' in the sense of a real yogurt.

Real yogurt is: cultured milk and live active cultures. Anything else means it's been altered, flavored, and processed.
