Low Metabolism!

I need some ideas on what I can do to pick up my metabolism without diet pills. (I don't believe in them.)

Eat breakfast with in 1 hour of waking up.  This is an easy one.
simple, the more you eat the more your metabolism will go up (to a certain degree)  it'll take a while for your body to get used to the higher caloric intake but it will find its set point and you will have a higher metabolism.

or you can try green tea, i heard it helps too

also... exercise will deffinately boost your metabolism
Typical suggestions are usually -

Eat small meals often (every 2 or so hours)
Cycle your calories (eat different amounts every day/week)
Weight Lifting (builds muscles. More muscle=more calories needed to maintain them)
More aerobic exercise

I think I'm forgetting some but, yar. Drinking water might also help.

I'm glad you don't want to take diet pills. The most effective (or only effective?) ones that have been on market usually caused undesirable to severe health problems.

And about weight lifting, don't worry about getting 'bulky'. If you stick the smaller weights with more reps, you should be able to bould more lean muscle mass without drastically increasing your size. If you don't have any weights, try getting some gallon jugs and fill them with water until they're as heavy as you'd like (make sure you fill them equally).
The Mayo Clinics take on it:

Burning more calories

Your ability to change your basal metabolism is limited. However, you can increase daily exercise and activity to build muscle tissue and burn more calories.

Regular aerobic exercise, such as walking daily for 30 minutes or more, is an excellent way to burn calories. Strength training exercises, such as weight training, also are important because they help counteract muscle loss associated with aging. And since muscle tissue burns more calories, muscle mass is a key factor in weight loss.

Even though regularly scheduled aerobic exercise is best for weight loss, any extra movement helps burn calories. Look for ways to walk and move around a few minutes more each day. Lifestyle activities, such as gardening, washing your car and even housework, burn calories and contribute to weight loss. Taking the stairs more often and parking farther away at the store also are simple ways to burn more calories.

Don't look to dietary supplements for help in burning calories. Products that claim to speed up your metabolism are likely to offer minimal benefit and may produce undesirable or even dangerous side effects. Dietary supplement manufactures aren't required by the Food and Drug Administration to prove their products are safe or effective, so view these products with caution and skepticism.

Your metabolism influences your energy needs, but it's your food intake and physical activity that ultimately determine your weight
.
A good decision on not taking diet pills. I decided to do the same because your metabolism becomes dependent on them, and it slows down after you get off of them.

There are several ways you can speed up your metabolism :

Eat within an hour of waking up to jump start it.

Eat small meals every 2.5 - 3 hours to keep it running.

At least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise every day.

Some suggest that eating 1/2 of a grapefruit daily will speed it up, although WebMD suggests that is a myth. I don't see the harm in trying it just in case...

Have your last meal no later than 3 hours before you sleep.

Good luck! :]
