So everyone thats in this boat thats around the 200s and is aiming to get down to the mid 100s (135-155) or less. Monday morning will be the group's official weigh in so that we can talk about progress and give support if people are having problems and not losing as much as they would like.

Ugh Birthday Parties.  I did terrible this weekend, snacked like crazy and didn't drink much water.  Last week I weighed 229.0, this week 228.0 down 1lb but Friday I had been down to 227.0 so up 1 lb since then.  I think it may be water weight but I will have to see later this week.
OK so I know I probably shouldn't take any diet pills or anything like that but I am getting discouraged because I am losing so slowly and working so hard! Does anyone take anything like that??

shannon, what do you mean by slowly?  Are you loosing less than 1 lb a week?  I wouldn't take the pills for no other reason than when you get off of them, you could gain back...

Thats true.. I lose about a pound or two a week I guess... i am just wishing it would be quicker i guess.  But your right.. i need to do this the healthy way! :)

I get tempted too.  My Dr even told me that she would give me migraine pills that can work as an appitite supressant, but I really need to do it on my own for it to work.  You have a really good weight loss, but it is slow I understand completely!

A friend is doing a special diet and she does drop weight quickly, but once she starts eating normally or has a glass of wine or cream in her coffee...she gains weight back.  We don't want to deal with that!  We want to eat EVERYTHING that we want to, in moderation and without binging.  I can tell that she doesn't understand why I won't go on her diet.  She has lost 30 pounds, but she eats almost just salad...special food combos, no sugar at all, no diary at all...just not into that.  I will take it slow

Remember the turtle wins over the hare in the race!

Hi, I am new to this and I love it. I came from 200 to 194 pounds in 2 weeks, but I am open to anything that could help.  What is the "Turbo" exercise you were talking about?

I love this idea! This will definitely keep me motivated and encouraged.  I won't feel all alone on my weekly weigh-ins and I would love to offer encouragement as well.   I look forward to getting to know all of you beter.

okay, weigh in

last week: 200.6 lbs

Today: 199.4 lbs

that makes a loss of 1.2 lbs this week

Hi guys. I'm here, had a bad weekend. Ate way too much, too much junk, very little exercise. Very disappointed in myself. :(

Today, its 4pm and all I've eaten so far is a slim fast this morning. I don't even feel like eating. Ugh.

No weigh in for me today, I can't even bear to look at the damage.

Hi, everyone. Well... I began on February 1st at 223.6, as of Friday I was 210.5. I had a bit of a hiccup this weekend due to hosting my sister-in-law's baby shower, BUT, I am back on track and looking forward to hitting my goal this week; 208.6.

Suggestion- I have had consistent success with my weightloss because I work out every day (high-pace running 25+ minutes). I also only drink water and eat fruits, raisins, etc. for snacks. I am breaking my meals up so that I eat five times a day. I am using weight watchers very loosley (i.e. not a subcriber, just using the concept). Since I started, I have lost atleast 2.5 pounds per week, with a 3.2 pound loss last week.

I say all this to say that, if you remain committed to finding that "you" who is hidden beneath the layers of fat; if you stay focused on the fact that being healthy and happy is more important than being full of junk food; if you allow your success to be your inspiration, YOU CAN DO IT! It is not going to be easy, but it is going to be worth it!

-175... HERE I COME!

Doctor actually recommended the frozen dinners to me.  She said that the sodium is a bit high, but if the rest of your diet is full of it, they are fine and really help with portion control.  It is cash control that stops me from getting them more often...It is cheaper to be fat!

I eat these every day for lunch.  If you go grab something at a fast food place, doesn't that cost more than the dinners?  I don't think 2 or 3 dollars is bad for lunch and I have lost 55 lbs and don't feel like I am dieting.  I think the frozen dinners are awesome!  I do choose the ones that are 200 calories or less, though!  I started out at 203 lbs and I now weight 148! woohoo.  I have told my doctor and dietitian about my frozen dinners and they think it is a great way to lose weight.  If you diet is too hard and too restrictive, then you are more likely not to stay on it.  I say, make it easy!  Smile

They are MUCH cheaper than eating out, but leftovers are even cheaper :-)  They really are a good option though.  I find hot food more satisfying than cold lunches so they really do the trick!

I am so excited, I know I will see 194 this week...for 2 days in a row I have been 195.0 so...maybe tomorrow.  I LOVE seeing it drop!  My birthday is June 6th, and if I keep with the 5 a month I will be 180 on my birthday...a lot  better than the 202 I started with!   In July, at 175, my BMI changes from severly overweight to moderately overweight.

I can't wait!

ok so i never weighed in yesterday but i did today and now i'm really not happy......after staying the same for weeks i have now gained two pounds i cant belive it, i really want to cry,  what is the point in doing all my hard work in the gym (and i'm not kidding either i'm in there for an hour mon,2hrs tues, 1hr wed day off thurs 2hr friday) and eating all the right stuff when i'm going to gain weight any way:( sorry for complaing.

Hope everyone else is having better luck than me xxxx

Morgi, that must be SO discouraging!  How many calories are you eating?  Are you eating enough?  That is a lot of work outs so you would need to be eating quite a bit...without knowing anything, I would say at least 1500-1600...maybe more...not knowing...

Don't give up...your body will cooperate!
