Original Post by heathmarpar:You can have fast food, just not a value meal! Dedicate to yourself that if you desire something from a fast food place to only have one item. Get just the burger or just the fries and never get the shake or soda. If you eat fast food in this way, it is pretty easy to stay within your daily calorie intake. It is when you eat the burger AND the fries AND the shake that you are looking at 2500 calories in one meal! Also, go that the fast food place's website and check out the calories and plan what you will order before you will go. You can probably put together a meal that keeps you on track with your daily calories.Good Morning!!
I weighed in yesterday, and I didn't lose last week. Maybe a mixture of that darn TOM and all the salty food I ate in response to my TOM madwoman cravings. At least it wasn't a gain, and I didn't go too far off my plan.
Today is a new day!! I took my son for a walk downtown. It's my day off and we usually just play around the house, but the weather is so nice today. He really enjoyed it and I think he'll be ready for a looooong nap!!
I have decided that I will have a "cheat" meal once every two weeks as a reward. I too am ADDICTED to fast food. Before I gave myself a kick in the pants, we were eating fast food for dinner or lunch two or three days a week. (and I mean whopper with cheese king sized fries please kind of fast food) So, I am making a promise to myself to eat a fast food lunch or dinner if I can stay on my plan for two weeks at a time. Maybe that's silly, but if I know that I CAN have that cheeseburger later, I won't break down every other day and get one!!
I really do feel better about myself. I am wearing a pair of jeans that I couldn't button a month ago!! yipee
I'm AMAZED, lol!
I got home from work and ate a couple of doritos.....along with dinner.....
AND I"M UNDER CALORIES!
GAH!
*happy dance that her little slip didnt cost her the day*

Great Job Heather D!!
I had a pretty good weekend. I went for walks with my son both Sat & Sun. Sunday I even rode horse for a little while. I kept under by a few hundred calories which is better than I've been doing on the weekend, so I'm happy about that, but still not so hot on drinking water.
Today's weight - 226.0
Last week's weight - 227.0
Starting weight - 242.0
Total weight lost - 16 lbs
Goal - 160, 66 lbs from Goal...and counting...
I FEEL GOOD!
My Friday weigh-in had me at 208.6, a total of 15 pounds lost since February 1st (223.6). I am able to wear clothes that have gathered dust in my closet for years! I wore a skirt on Saturday that I have not worn in two years. I am so excited!! I started at size 18 and am fitting into size 14 comfortably, size 12 ALMOST, and size 16 easily!
Everyone, stay encouraged and know that your success is the biggest motivator!

Hi, Malia. I am loosely following weight watchers and shooting for a target of 28 points per day. If I had to guess how many calories that is, I would say about 1500. BUT, the key is that they are 1500 good calories. A typical day for me goes like this:
Breakfast: Bolthouse Farms Smoothie (strawberry banana or berry blast)- these things are GREAT. High in vitamins and minerals and they taste DELICIOUS. Total: 5 Points for entire bottle. *sometimes I will drink half and save the points for lunch.
Snack: Bosc Pear- 2 Points
Lunch: Sandwich or Turkeydog on wheat with 10 ranch flavored rice cake chips- 10 points *Flavored rice cake chips are probably the best creation since water. I substitute them for regular chips or fries and they taste great at only 70 calories for 10 chips (i.e. 2 points)
Afternoon snack: Banana- 2 points
Dinner: (ALWAYS EATEN BEFORE 7PM) Anything I want at or under 12-15 points.
I also only drink water. I am not a member of weight watchers, I just watch my calorie intake and their system really helps. If I do not know the calorie value of something for lunch, but it is pretty rich, I will simply forego dinner. If I am going out to dinner, I will have some fruit or yogurt for lunch and save my points.
I hope this helps and sorry for the length!
Kae, instead of eating, go for a walk at night with your favorite relaxation music. You would be surprised how great you feel when you get home. Clear your mind, don't fill your belly. Food will only stop being a medication when you allow yourself to explore the medicinal power of relaxation coupled with exercise. Nothing harsh, just take a nice walk and enjoy the evening if it is not too cold or hot where you are. If weather precludes it, put on some nice music, a vanilla scented candle, and lie on your couch with some good tea. It always works for me when I am stressed. I used to raid the fridge, now I just chill.
Wishing you the best success,

Well this week i've lost nothing not an oz but still its much better than last week when i gained, i must admint that i have not been to the gym since tuesday last week, i've serously not had the time so going to go to body attack tonight and then i'm going to the gym for 2hrs tomorrow, can only hope and cross my fingers that i will lose somthing this week, good luck everyone xxxx
I am starting at 222 and I would like to get to 135-140. Last week was my first week with calorie-count.com and I have lost 5 pounds! So I am now at a wonderful 217!
Monday weigh in:
start weight: 210
last week:194
today:193
I seem to be slowing down. I lost 1lb this week but the scales have not moved at all since last wednesday. I think i will up the calories a bit for a couple of weeks and zig-zag calories. At least then i wont have too feel bad about having an easter egg. lol
Didn't weigh in this morning, but I will tomorrow. Expect it to be high...didn't over do too much calories wise, but our friend sodium and not enough water...
On Friday, I was up about .6 lbs from my low. Expected it, but it discouaged me anyway...we shall see...
NOT giving up...even though I want to this week.
well...not overly thrilled this morning. Did my weigh in. It was 195.0. my low last week was 194.6. I knew I would go up, I always drop and go up and then drop to my "real" weight, but I was hoping...Didn't really loose a pound this week...about .5 a lb so still good, but...gotta do better this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I lost another lb today. I'm not sure what is working, but something seems to be. I have been doing really well during the week, but not so hot on the weekends. I figure if I can stick with a pound or 2 a week that will be great. The exercising I've been doing is probably the key, I go to the gym every day after work. That seems to make me feel better too. I've lost 18 lbs so far and dropped a pants size, which is very exciting. Good Luck to everyone this week...
Hey I want to join ;) I weigh 204 and am 5'5" ;)
I am going to brazil in 1 month and I am going to try to lose as much as I can before then ;)
Feeling a new serge to do well...I got some lean pockets for lunch...I think going home I tend to grab stuff without thinking...so, I will have lunch here at work for a while so that isn't an option. I think I have been having "hidden calories" we shall see...Need to loose 3 pounds by the 5th to reach my 5 a month goal...totally doable!
oh happy day! Our group weigh in may be monday's, but my body tends to wait until wed or thursday to loose...this morning I dropped to 193.8!!!!!!!!
Still having trouble getting up in time for my work out. But I am still loosing so it will only get better though right????
Great job Kae... I had dropped down to 223 yesterday, but was back up to 224 today. I am still down from Mondays weight of 226. I am not going to the gym tonight because I am taking my son to a Dr. Appt this afternoon, it is very nice out so I am planning to go for a walk with the stroller instead. I'm getting a little nervous about the holiday weekend coming up. Hopefully I can manage some sort of will power.
remember amanda, we are in this for the long haul...one cadbury egg isn't going to stop anything. You are not on a diet...you have changed your life for the better and chocolate and twiced baked potatoes are NOT the enemy...
Did someone mention Cadbury eggs?!!! Yummy!
You're right kae03, we aren't on diets..... With our new attitudes toward eating and exercise, we should feel comfortable if we decide to treat ourselves to an indulgence such as a Cadbury egg. My mother and I are working on our Easter menu and, even though we'll have the traditional, fattening comfort foods, I can easily make some tweaks and include some healthy options while not depriving myself of the decadent stuff.
As for that Cadbury egg, the one thing I'll do differently then the old 400 pound me is that I will keep it at just one egg (instead of 4 in one sitting) and I will SAVOR every little bite rather than inhaling it in two bites!
I have learned to make chocolate last a LONG time too...better that way.
What is the diet for kidney stones?
For kidney stones, you should drink at least three to four quarts of fluid (preferably water) everyday. There are several kinds of kidney stones... Read more
