Hi, everyone! It is another great Friday for me and I wanted to share it with you:-). I lost 2.4 pounds since last Friday. My goal was 2.5 pounds, but who cares about that 1/10 of a lb (especially since I wound up having to eat dinner pretty late last night). I currently weigh 206.2, 17.4 pounds down from my initial 223.6!

I am really looking forward to hitting that -20 lbs mark next Friday, not only because it will be cool, but because I get my next weight loss reward. Have a great weekend everyone and stay encouraged!

175hereicome!

-5 in your first week!  Awesome!  I've been with calorie-count for quite awhile, but just now am zoning in.  I've discovered an exercise I love, Zumba and I am committed to losing. I lost 1 pound this past week, current weight 225.

Great going in the 5 pound lost!

Hi everyone.  I am a female, turning 32 this week.  I started faithfully doing CC on 1/27/08 at 230 lbs.  I am 5'6"-ish and I am currenly at 216.  My goal is to get to 150 lbs by the end of the year.  At that time, I will reevaluate my weight loss goals with my doctor to see if I should weight less.  I have a medium frame and good muscle density as well.  150 may be where I should be.

I have a treadmill at home which is good as it helps to keep me exercising regularly and I also go to the YMCA to do some weight training as well as use other cardio machines.

The change in my diet has been exciting and I still eat some bad foods just not that frequently and as long as I stay in my calorie goal which is 1000-1200 a day.  I can't wait to get under 200. That will be my first real success.  I have been over 200 lbs for at least the last 6-7 years.  I have done harder things, I am a veteran and I did not always weigh this much; however, I have always battled my weight problem.  I am sure it is/was because my eating habits were very poor.

I am reinventing my relationship with food.  I don't look at it as something that will just taste good.  I look at it as a source of energy and nutrients that my body needs to be healthy.  And since I have done so, I am probably eating the best I have in my entire life.  Another thing I do is try to stay away from processed foods and only eat foods that don't have other ingredients.  For example, I eat meat, vegetables, nuts, fruits, etc. and very little pre-pared foods.  This really helps.

 Hi Rozie,

You are doing wonderful...my goal was to make a 15 pound loss by the beginning of spring...didn't happen.  I've found an exercise I love and I am planning healthy meals and tracking both food and exercise -- I think that means I'm following the guidelines, imagine that.  I too am looking at food in a different way, more on the nutrient value and of course taste.

Currently I'm at 225 and intend on saying good bye to size 18's and hello size 14's his summer.  My picture is from 1999-2000 and can't wait till I look like that girl again.

Good Morning,

  How was your Easter?

Was a bit worrried to doing the weigh in this morning, but it wasn' bad.  I am at 194.0.  My lowest last week was 193.4  one day, but all things considered, still down from last monday.  Need to eat clean this week to stay with my goal and loose 2 pounds before the 5th...

Hi,

I have increased my calories a bit this week, but i have still lost one lb so not bad. I went to the supermarket this morning and my husband and i bought half price easter eggs in the sale. It was probably a really bad idea as both of us are trying to lose weight. I bought lots of little things rather than a big egg and have spent the afternoon on the web calculting how may calories in a lindt mini egg and mini bunny, etc LOL!! So i will have to ration my little treats out over the next few weeks.

I am going out for a walk now to burn the calories for a chocolate treat tonight!

everyone is different of course, but for me, little treats stop the binges!

I decided not to weigh myself today, I will do it tomorrow.  I had 3 Easter meals to go to yesterday.  I ate way too much at all of them.  I did ok with the chocolate, but I ate cheesy potatoes at each meal and they were sooo good.  I've decided to stay away from the carbs for a couple of days and see where I am with my weight then.

Yes, if it wasnt for regular little treats i would feel deprived and then just give up, which is what i have tended to do in the past. I know the ideal is to have nutritionally balanced food but eating more carbs and sugars but within my allowed calories helps me to keep on track. I can eat more healthy during the week.

Hi everyone, so i missed my weigh in yesterday and i never weighed myself all weekend i wz scared incase my scales laughed at me and told me to get off, all easter weekend i have ate nothing but crap, but i've been sick (had a throat infection and now have the flu) and when your sick who on earth wants to eat healthy so anywho i thought i'd be brave and face the scales and i could not belive it i have lost 4lb now this could be fake weight loss coz my diet has been terrible but i'm going to relish this moment as i have not lost anyhing for a month i'm now 13st 11 woop woop.  good luck for the rest of the week xxxx

So my weight today is 226.0, the same as last week.  Considering all the food I ate over the weekend that is not too bad, but last week Wednesday I had dropped down to 223, so it's not great either.  I am really hoping that 3 lbs are still some water weight, I guess I will see tomorrow.  Oh and Friday at the Gym I jogged for 5 minutes straight.  That is an accomplishment for me...I've only been able to get up to 4 minutes before that.  Tonight I will shoot for 5.5 minutes.  Have a great Day!!!

amanda, great job on the running!

I was up 4 pounds this morning!  I've been exercising good, lap swim at lunch, Zumba several times a week and walking one mile or more nightly.  Easter I made a large salad and cut up a slice of ham on top, I did eat some of the potato casserole and for breakfast had a good size helping of my husbands breakfast casserole...

Do you suppose the weight gain could be "developing" muscle?  :)

Back at it, elliptical at lunch and an exercise DVD tonight, then a 2 mile walk with the dog.  Drinking unsweetened green tea (supposedly green tea increases your metabolism), and brought a salad to work with nonfat dressing, had steelcut oatmeal for breakfast sweetened with applesauce, and for a snack I have cut up fruit with some plain yogurt...this is difficult trying to relenquish my sugar and sweetner habits.

Di - Have you been drinking enough water?  It could be a little water weight.  I would wait a couple of days to see if the weight sticks around.

I'm hoping the weight gain I had is just temporary also.

It sounds like you're doing everything right otherwise.

I was up 2 pounds this morning also! I KNOW I didn't eat 7000 extra calories yesterday...but to think that a couple of handfuls of wheat thins could do this...only thing I can think of...I was below maintance in calories for sure yesterday.  barely over BMR...

TOM is next week...could be bloating early. Have any of you tried the anti bloating meds like Midol?  Does it actually do anything?

I found, last month, that a few days before TOM, I was 4 pounds heavier.  But after TOM, those four pounds disappeared and I lost 2 more.  I use pamprin mostly for the pain relief but it also works for water retention.  I like it.

Hello everyone.  i just joined this site.  I am currently at 214 after giving birth to my beautiful little baby boy.  I am 5'9'' and the site set my goal at 154...but I would be happy to be at 170 at this point!!  I started running at the beginning of March and started calorie counting today. I was doing weight watchers but I would fidge points and needed something a bit more strict for myself.  I was 214 monday but was 209 before easter.  I am hoping that was water weight but will weigh again Monday and hope I lose some!!

I am excited to have other people to go through this with.  I always do better with some encouragement of others doing the same thing!

welcome!

Well I am back from my vacation now and back to real life! I actually managed to eat pretty healthy and stay active while I was gone! I lost about 1 1/2 pounds while I was gone so I am thrilled! I will do my official weigh in on Monday! Everyone keep up the great work!!

Sorry I haven't been on for a little while.  Been very busy with my daycare and with finishing off our bathroom and basement.  When I started I was 221 lbs.  I weighed my self this morning and I am at 213.4 lbs.  I have a quiet morning so far, only 2 daycare children here right now, so I thought I better take a moment and see how everyone is doing.  I joined curves at the beginging of march and it has truly helped.  I have lost 4 1/2 inches off my tummy.  I will have to do updated pictures soon.

Wow, I can't believe how many posts are on here since I last did a post.  I am going to have to get back into routine of posting.  Easter was also a challenge for me.  I gained 3 lbs over the holiday weekend.  I worked extra hard this week and lost the 3 lbs plus another 1.4 lbs.  My husband even noticed that I am starting to get muscle definition in the tummy area.  I have also had comments that it is noticeable in my face and that my clothes look a lot looser.  It has been a while since I saw my in-laws and when I saw them over Easter long weekend, my mother-in-laws mouth almost hit the floor.  She said she can't believe the difference in how I look.  That felt good.

I promise I will try to get back into the posting and letting everyone know how it is going

Karren
