From low 200's trying to get to the mid 100's (145-155) anyone wanna do it with me (FEMALE)
Hi guys!
I stepped on the scale this morning, down one more lb!! So now I am at 194!! YAY!! This weekend is going to be hard for me too, at least tomorrow night anyway. I need to have will power to stay away from all the junk food. I'm hoping to pick out the place for dinner tomorrow night, today, so I can peek at the menu online and make my selection. And while my friends are drinking their beer, I'm going to try real hard to stick to bottled water!
Good job JJlewis, ORissamk and Julie on all your loss'!! We are all on the right track! I'm so proud of all of us for sticking with it!!

Original Post by kae03:Good Morning,
How is everyone doing? jeanus, do you have a snow day? Here in the northeast we are getting snow...
My unofficial weight this morning (it isn't monday:0) was the same...198. Yes I was hoping for a drop. Trying to realize that I have been back for 2 weeks and I lost 4 pounds. That is actually good, but I was hoping for a quick drop in the beginning. I DID however loose inches and that is more important! I am really happy about that.
ave a great day
Nope I live in Florida, so no snow days for us. Its really hot all the time i dont like it much actually.
Ohhhhh.....I love Texas Roadhouse!!! Was there not too long ago and I got the salmon. It was AWESOME!! I had one roll w/butter, a salad with fat free ranch and the salmon and steamed veggies (I decided against the potato). It was great!!!

Texas Roadhouse..... rolls, ribs...... Brownies in the break room....... mmmmmmmmm....... mouth is watering. Must have comfort food........
No! No! No! Must think of healthier things....... Carrots. Sweet crunchy carrots...... uhhhhh.... NOPE! Still want rolls, ribs and brownies!!!
You girls are bad! LOL
Okay..... I got brave and posted two of my BEFORE pics. I'll just take a look at those and remember what happened to me when I ate all that stuff! That'll turn my appetite around! But darn if I still don't want those rolls...... ![]()
You can definately do it! I got up to 203 lbs and started my diet April last year. I am now down to 154 lbs! I started having problems such as pulling ligaments in my foot and hip pain. The 1st time I got on the eliptical was for only 5 minutes and I almost fainted. I gave up on that for a little while and decided to start out a little slower. So I got a dog and made a commitment to bring her on a 1 to 2 mile walk every evening after work. I educated myself online on how many calories are in everything especially fast food. All fast food places have a website that tell you exactly how many calories are in thier foods. Read labels. Stick to actual portion sizes. You may read on a product that it has only 100 calories, but how many servings are in the package? Count your calories that you eat every day to stay on track. I cannot eat a large lunch and then a small dinner like experts suggest. What happens is I would eat the large lunch, then come home and not be able to resist eating dinner with my family. So I keep my calories down during the day so that I can enjoy dinner with my family without depraving them or myself. I eat about 100 to 170 calories for breakfast, 140 to 200 calories for lunch (Smart Ones, Lean Cuisine are awesome & filling) so then I have up to 600 calories I can eat for dinner. You can pretty much eat whatever you want as long as you keep your daily calorie intake below a certain number and stick to actual portion sizes. This way, you don't feel like you are dieting and tempted to give up because it is too hard. Once I started losing weight and getting exercise by walking, I got back on the eliptical. Here is my trick. I do it in the morning. I kept finding myself making excuses after work NOT to get on it. In the morniing, I get it out of the way and tell myself that if I am going to get up this much earlier, it will not be for nothing and it motivates me. This way you get that excercise out of the way and don't have to worry about it the rest of the day. It also helps to increase your metabolism when you do it in the mornings instead. I now am proud to say that instead of 5 minutes on it and almost fainting, I can now do 30 to 45 minutes on settings 5 & 6. I ususally do 30 minutes every morning while watching news or tv or music and actally enjoy it. It is my "me time". I am now starting to do strength exercises as well because muscle burns more calories. 49 lbs later and I feel wonderful. 16 more lbs to go to reach my goal! I can't wait! Went from a size 18 to now a 10! IF I CAN DO IT WITH THE PROBLEMS AND ACHES AND PAINS I HAD, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!!!
edit: add name of person I am speaking to.
kaufmkk, you can still eat those things. If you don't then one day you will cave and gorge yourself. Just when you cut yourself that slice of cake, make it a small piece and eat it slowly savoring the flavor, then subract the calories from whatever you had planned on eating for dinner. If you deprave yourself too much, you will give up! It's a simple fact. (I wouldn't do it everyday of course, just when the craving is strong.)
Jennn~,thanks for the info. You're absolutely right. The fact is, I choose to avoid those foods for health reasons. As a recent cancer survivor, I've gone hardcore on my diet and stick with fresh fruits, veggies, lean protein, high fiiber & whole grain items, Omega 3 fats, etc. (basically going by the FDA food pyramid). To curb my intense cravings, I'll have the occasionalLean Cuisine or Weight Watcher's meal to match the craving. They are incredibly high in sodium but sometimes you just have to cave.
For all the others out there who aren't as concerned as I am about the types of food they eat, then more power too them! I'm living through them vicariously!!! I can appreciate watching someone savor a bite of chocolate! LOL
Amazingly, I've been on the whole-foods kick for so long (18 months so far), I can easily pass up a candy bar for a handful of raisins and natural, unsalted almonds. I never thought it would happen to me but boy am I glad that it did!!! My lifestyle change has literally saved my life.
F.Y.I. -- My lifestyle change doesn't just apply to my diet, it also includes a new way of looking at my fitness routine and, above all else, a positive attitude. Check out my profile page to see before and after pics and you'll see that it's working! YAY!!!
Keep up the good work everyone. No matter what approach you take, as long as you remain healthy then I'm all for it!!!
Dropped another...197 now!!!! Today was my daughter's birthday party...I am exhausted! After cleaning up from that, I am having guests after church tomorrow so I had to get it ready to pop in the oven. I am trying to rest a minute before I make dinner...I think today I can totally NOT call myelf seditary
When I stepped on the scale this morning I totally thought it would go up. I was hungry ALL day yesterday. I ate too...right up to just over my BMR...Friday morning I was 198.6 and this morning 197.0! So did eating actually release what my body was hanging on to?
Hey Everyone,
I just had an idea I thought I would run by you guys, you may think its stupid but I will just put it out there. I figure yeah we have thsi group going nwo but how much do we really know about each other. I cant really remember people that well so i thought that i would randomly pair people up every week and they can message each other and get to know each other and that way people get to know each other better and we can become closer in thsi whole weight loss challenge and perhaps be more successful in the end. Well if anyone thinks this might be a good idea just post back on the site. Alright have a good rest of your weekend!!!
So monday weigh in...Too bad it isn't saturday's weight. I liked that better. This morning read 199.7! I almost fainted when I saw a 2.7 weight GAIN! Saturday was 197.0!!!!!1 I know that I didn't eat an extra 7000 calories, or even 3500 all weekend so....I am rather sure that it is I didn't drink nearly enough water. I do tend to do this . I drop to a low and then flucuate between that low and a new "high"
My work out plan gives me the weekend off so I was to re start this moring. My DD took the dvd player and well, that was all the excuse I needed not to do it. I didn't slepp well last night and well....not a great excuse, but it's all I got :-) I really don't like getting up at 5:30 to work out, but it is my only time...
Monday 2/25 weigh-in:
Height: 5' 4"
Starting Weight: 312 lbs
Goal Weight: 145 lbs
Mini Goal: 199 lbs (break the 200 barrier)
Joined last week
Current Weight: 203 lbs
With all the activities this weekend I thought for sure that I would gain at least a couple of pounds but I kept at my current weight. I went out for my birthday on Friday and helped with the appetizers, went to the moving party and had pizza, and even had cake for my birthday but instead of gorging on those things I had just enough to enjoy it without over doing it. I am really proud of myself because before I would have either been miserable by not having any of that or would have eaten everything in site becasue I had an excuse.
But now back on track so I can continue to go down. I really have to give credit to CC because it taught me to think about portion size and be more aware of what I was eating. I am feeling really good about myself which is really difficult as I suffer from depression and the weight issue is always a conscious concern. I also want to thank all of you and your stories because you help me to realize that I am not alone and that we CAN do this. ![]()
