low-sodium or sodium-free tuna?
i love canned tuna, but not all the added sodium that comes with it. does anyone know of a brand of canned tuna that is reduced in sodium, or is sodium-free.. and where to buy it?
rinse it with water !!!
it takes out some of the sodium, and nutritionist at my high school told me this a long time ago!
I've found "no salt added" tuna through both Trader Joe's and 365 Organic.
Look for tuna canned in water rather than brine. I find it in all the major supermarkets ... but I'm the UK, maybe it's not all that common where you live. Other than that, rinse as previously recommended.
In addition to what others have said, Starkist has a brand of very low sodium that I find in several of my local grocery stores - not all, but some...
i found some cans of sodium-free tuna at my grocery store, but the calories were 270 per can instead of the usual 120 per can.. so i'm just gonna use the 120-calorie cans and rinse the tuna.
