Luna Bar Recipe

Quote  |  Reply

I love Luna Bars but in my town they cost more than I want to spend. Does anyone have a recipe to make homemade Luna bars? I would love it if you could share it with me :) Thank you!

Well...they aren't the same as Luna bars. But I've made my own bar type things. I used oatmeal as my base, and added vanilla protein powder, chopped pecans, a touch of milk, and some nutella (or any other nut butter) to hold it together. Then I stuck them in the fridge for a while. They were also pretty good after I baked them.

You could use any combination of things though. Just have some fun experimenting! You could use puffed instead of oatmeal for crispiness. And dried fruits might be yummy.

Luna bars I think are just like rice crispy squares with protien powder and chocolate or something, aren't they?

I like the 'unisex' Clif bars better, I think, though they do taste really vitamin-y.  I posted a message on another forum looking for clif bar/energy bar recipes to no avail, unfortunately.  I was thinking of doing something like oats, spelt flour, protein powder, a few ground up kids multivitamins, almond butter, agave nectar, and then whatever flavouring ... pat it into a baking pan and bake for half an hour...

Luna Bars are my favorite food. :)
