I know these bars have been discussed on the forum before but now they have come up abundantly in my life.

The company I work for just made a deal with Clif bar and now we get just tuns and tuns of these bars. I didnt realize we could just have them but now everyone has been leaving bunches on my desk. Anyone else eat these? I had one and it was alright--Lemon Zest.

What do you guys think about these bars? I cant decide. They have a lot of calories and good amount of sugar.

You will hear good and bad reports.

I haven't tried the lemon zest.  I do however LOVE the Cookies & Cream Delight.  I eat them because they have good stuff in them.  They are better for you than many other bar choices.  I do think they have that distinct protein bar flavor which isn't all that great but I think they are filling, somewhat nutritional and some of them do actually taste good.

Just my opinion.

i dont know anything about them. are you supposed to work out after eating one? or do you eat it just for fill? someone here at work told me after i ate one i had to run around the building a few times...not sure about that one.

Haha...I hope thats not the truth!

They are about 180 calories and have...hold on, have one here: (caramel nut brownie): 190 calories, 9 grams protein, 4 grams fiber and they contain a lot of vitamins and minerals and nutrients that women need.  They are 70% organic.

I like how they're packed with vitamins...but then again, you could just take a multivitamin every day instead lol.  I like larabars a lot better, just because there's a lot less ingredients, and it's therefore more natural.  Furthermore, I think all the lunabars are a tad too sweet for my tastes, while the nutty flavors of the larabars are just right.

I like the lemon ones but find them too sweet...I like the Nutz Over Chocolate the best, I don't taste that chalky protein bar taste in those ones. I basically use them as a breakfast replacement, if I am running behind and don't have time to pack a decent breakfast, then a Luna bar  and a banana or other fruit does the job. I try not to do that too often though....they don't really fill me up like a real breakfast does, but they are better than nothing!

Chocolate Peppermint Stick and Chocolate Raspberry are the best IMO... of course I didn't try lemon zest. They are/were GREAT when I don't have a lot of time for breakfast, lunch, or a snack, and/or when I am feeling a sweet tooth. I ate a ton of them during the school year living in a dorm room. however, when I'm at home I keep them around just so I can have one as a 'treat' occasionally...

As someone who has an extremely hard time getting her protein intake up to 20% on most days, I love LUNA bars and find them a very useful snack.  (I probably average only about 18% of calories from protein though I make absolutely certain to eat at least the minimum 0.4 g protein per kg body mass - and I have built up muscle mass over the last month, so I'm doing okay but even getting up to 18% can be a chore!)

The caramel nut brownie one, in particular, tastes quite a lot like a brownie (though it doesn't have the same fudgy texture) and the lemonzest one is lovely.  My grocery store only stocks about four flavours, so I can't speak for the others.

I didn't read the rest of the posts because i've learned to just give my OPINION.

I love LUNA bars- Well- NUTZ over CHOCOLATE. Fit perfectly into my diet- 1350-1650 calories per day- great 180 snack late lunch addtion and no huge GLYcemic rise!! Thats the best part- One of these with a 32 oz bottle of water is incredibly filling- I buy them by the box from thelocal convienet store for a lot less than the per bar price....gotta love a chocolately snack!!!

We dont have them here, but I make my own.
Of the plain ones anyway.

I usually try to have only a half of a clif bar at a time since they have sooo many calories. It is usually what I grab as a snack an hour before I know I am going to work out. I love the crunchy peanut and chocolate chip cause I feel like I am eating cookies. They have a lot of great vitamins it them and are a good quick energy source.... just wouldn't eat them as a filler.

There are Detour bars as well - they are sweet but don't have that gritty protein feel to them .... 15 grams of protein in each one with 170 - 180 calories per bar....  I will admit that I like them for a breakfast on the run - kind of like eating a chocolate bar!

I also really like the Elevate Me bars too ... higher in calories - but they come in a package with three peices so you can eat just one or two .... they are nutty and quite yummy ....

I love them! So much better tasting than regular Clif bars. Chocolate peppermint stick and s'mores are definetly the best
