Do you all eat them as meals or snacks? I've read on the forums that a lot of people eat them... I was just wondering what they eat them for...meals or snacks?

Snacks, and only snacks.
I firmly believe that eating a bar for a meal is ridiculous nutrition- wise.
No offense to those who do...I'm just talking about my own body. And my body would never find that filling.

I usually eat them as snacks to hold me over until my next meal, but occasionally I will have an Odwalla bar (very filling) and some fruit as a small breakfast or lunch.
By the way, Luna bars are amazing, and if you haven't tried the Clif bar Nectar Dark Chocolate.... try it now. It tastes like fudge, yet is still healthy! jackpot!

I haven't tried the Luna's or Cliff bars yet. Everytime I think I'm going to I read the nutrician label and cringe when I see the amount of sugar in them... I stick to either a whey protein shake with 2 grams of sugar and 23 grams of protein, or myoplex lite shakes or bars with only 1 gram of sugar and 25 grams of protein.... and I only consume these for an after workout snack or just a regular snack if my protein intake for the day is low......
I'm afraid if I ate a Luna or Cliff with the sugar in them, then I wouldn't be able to stop at just one, or it would make me crave more sugar... lol;

I use them between lunch and dinner. Luna bars are super tasty. I make a conscious effort to limit myself to one per day. I had originally purchased them for after workouts, but I'm finding them more useful around 3PM. Because they are satisfying and are also slow to digest, I think they are perfect for tiding me over 'til dinner, which is sometimes delayed until 7 or 8 if I go to the gym after work.
I've also been eating PerfectZone bars. I'll probably give all other bars a try at some point.

hairgurl32, I know how you feel about the sugar.
However, Luna bars aren't THAT high in sugar, at least in comparison to Clif bars. I eat at least one of those types everyday, and I haven't gained any weight because of the sugar, if that's what you're worrying about.

yeah, those bars tend to have a "lot of sugar," but if you look at the sugar in other foods, it's really not that bad. Besides, your body NEEDS some sugar. I eat them as snacks on occasion, though I more often have Nature Valley and Kashi TLC's. If I'm not all that hungry, they'll be a part of a meal--plus a yogurt, or soup or something.
I tried luna bars and was thoroughly disappointed... I tried a lot of flavours too - I think 6
I eat a Luna bar and a banana just about every morning. It tastes great with my coffee, and it keeps me going till about 1p.m., when I'll usually have a veggie wrap. I love every flavor I've tried so far.
I either eat a Luna bar or Pria Complete Nutrition bar for a snack during work or between classes. Only a snack, though.
When I'm running SUPER-late, though, and I need a meal - this is only in a serious time crunch and I've done it only twice -, I'll grab one of those higher-calorie bars, as long as they have a powerhouse of nutrients in them and 250+ calories.

I also do not like Luna bars.
However, I have found the Atkins Advantage bars - they are DELICIOUS! They are full of protein (12g), and fibre (9g per bar), and taste divine. They are also low in sugar. In terms of calories, you're looking at 150-170/bar, depending on the flavour.

They now have 100 calorie balance bars, and I LOVE them. They only have two flavors but I eat them when I am really craving a candy bar or chocolate because they are sweet, but only 100 calories. I also eat them sometimes just for the fiber and protein. 5g fiber and 6g protein, and lots of other vitamins. And only 5g sugar! I dont know how they do it!
