Lunch on the go Downtown DC..where to go??
I live in DC but just recently started working in the downtown DC area. I love the active environment and all coming from quiet Rockville area in MD. My question is where can you eat that is healthy, tasty and low priced. Im getting tired of Quizno, All I feel comfortable eating from the Corner Bakery is The Turkey Sandwich. How do you guys work that out? And please dont mention the bring your own lunch from home because I dont like doing it even though it would probably save me money. I did mention low priced! LOL!!
I love Teaism, which is an Asian-influenced cafe behind the National Archives. There are other locations in the city as well, but I'm not sure where they are exactly. You can get a really good lunch there for less than $10 and there are a lot of healthy options! I also like Cosi, which is a sandwich / salad type place. That's a chain so there are a few downtown - one near the National Gallery and one near the White House, that I can think of.
Thanks! I like Cozi too but when I look into the nutrition information the calories are so high on the salads that it turned me off to them. The corner bakery is also kinda high on the calories! Its so annoying because I am trying to stay in the 1200-1500 calories a day bracket and more closer to 1200 than 1500. I was really surprised because these places seem somewhat healthy.
