I try to have something different for lunch every day of the week, since I always have the same thing for breakfast.

It can be one of the following (most common):

  • tuna/chicken breast-egg-black beans-avocado-spinach-cucumber-tomatoes-cotta ge cheese salad
  • Romano beans - egg - corn- imitation crab meat - avocado -cucumber - cottage cheese salad
  • homemade Thai shrimp curry (based on low fat coconut milk) with baby corn and red lentils + veggie salad with cottage cheese as dressing
  • lentils-carrots-broccoli soup with a few crackers and 20 g cheddar
  • "plov" (brown rice with ground chicken, carrots, onions and a handful of cranberries)
  • pork chops with lentils/corn and a veggie salad with cottage cheese

that looks very interesting! i might try some of them if u dont mind tht is :))).

i also noticed that there isnt much complex carbs, for eg wholemeal bread etc? do u eat those? and if so when?

i work out in the evenings, so after dinner, i tend to have loads of protein with a complex carb like brown rice/whole wheat couscous etc...is that ok? damn these carbs!

Hm... lentils, beans, rice - these are all complex carbs. I forgot to mention quinoa, I alternate it and lentils. And oatmeal! (for dinner about once a week)

Actually, I don't like the term "complex carb" because it's being misused more often than not. When they say "complex carbs" around here they usually mean "high in fibre", "good carbs", etc. But complex carbs are just molecules longer than mono- and disaccharides (sugars), which means that starches and fibers are both complex carbs. Which in turn means that refined white bread is made of ... complex carbs.

I try to go low on starch and simple carbs, therefore I prefer beans/lentils as they are less starchy than grains. I do eat a whole wheat tortilla about once a week, a few whole wheat crackers, but that's about it.  I love bread (mmmmm, hot homemade whole wheat loaf right from the oven, *drools*), but I tend to overeat if I don't control my carbs.

Edit: I am NOT for low-carb diets and artificial low-carb foods. I call my eating style "lower carbs", where I try to keep them between 30% and 40% of my calories.
