My husband makes a tea out of if with a little bit of honey.  It tastes pretty good (I never would have thought it) and it really curbed my appetite for a while.

apple cider vinegar is great for killing any bacteria or whatnot.  my old boss swore by it and would also take 2 tablespoon each night.

I read in a mag some time ago that it was supposed to help you lose weight but I have never tried it. SO, I will wait right along with you for an answer from someone who has......

my grandmother swears by the stuff!

ive just started using it and shes been using it for years now and she looks amazing for her age. i mean i know it isnt entirely due to the apple cider vinegar, but i'm sure it helps. if you are only hoping to lose weight..then dont get it... but if you want better overall health then you definitely should. it has SO many functions. i use it for a facial a few times a week and it makes my skin look and feel amazing. its also good after eating a big dinner- it seems to help get rid of bloat and indigestion for me.

p.s haha theres a book you can buy that gives you a bunch of remedies you can create and different ways of using the apple cider vinegar! .. just thought id throw that one in
I never tried it, BUT what I read about it is that you can not use just any ACV, but need the special one that is unfiltered, unheated and unpasteurized and it has to have the so called 'mother' in it which are naturally strand-like enzymes of connected protein molecules that float around in the vinegar. It definitely won't work just buying the cheap stuff (not that I say that the expensive stuff WILL work, like I said I never tried it) just funny how lot's of articles about ACV forget to mention this detail. Also on some site I found these warnings:
  • Long-term use of apple cider vinegar could cause low potassium levels and lower bone density. If you already have low potassium or osteoporosis, talk to your doctor before using apple cider vinegar.
  • Apple cider vinegar could theoretically interact with diuretics, laxatives, and medicines for diabetes and heart disease.
  • If you have diabetes, check with your doctor before using apple cider vinegar. Vinegar contains chromium, which can alter your insulin levels.
I think I'll just use it in my salad and leave it be for the rest, that's just me though....

To add one more warning to soliwits warnings...My husband and I tried it for awhile.  It did nothing for me, but after the first 4 or 5 days my husband was in major pain.  He thought he hurt his back until I remembered how my dad ends up in pain if he eats too many grapefruit in a short period of time.  I told him to start drinking water to flush out his system and to stop the ACV.  About 4 days after he stopped using it, the pain went away.  It was the acid in vinegar that was causing pain in his kidneys.

For anyone trying it remember that if you get "back pain" after a few days of taking the ACV, it is probably not your back but your kidneys hurting from all the acid.

Yah, too much acid is seriously bad for you! There's all this talk about how our diets are too acidic as it is from all the fatty acids and we should try to eat more alkaline foods for good pH balance.

I'll stick to using it as a rinse to make my hair shiny, and that's all!

yes i agree with both sides...it has positive and negative health benefits... but sometimes, if im gonna eat something that i shouldnt..i will have a tablespoom, it just seems to make me not as hungry.... but i used to take it every day...my teeth didnt seem to like that so i stopped.....
I think it is kind of weird to drink the stuff but if you put it in a squirt bottle and spray your fruits- let them soak a little while and then wash them it kills the pesticides (i find it a cheaper version closer to organically grown)

I have been taking 2 tablets each morning for a few months.  I have lost 45lbs since August.  I don't think this single handedly did the job but every little bit helps.  Supposed to help metabolism/fat burning.  Also take 1 tablet green tea extract for same and milk thistle for liver function (aids efficiency of liver which is your major house cleaner for toxins in your body and also 1 multi-vitamin.

I have recently heard that CoEnzyme Q10 is fantastic for heart health and may add this because my father died of heart disease at 64.  I'm not sure if that would be too many suplements?

Well, I don't buy into the weight loss myth of apple cider vinegar, but I do like to put a tablespoon each of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar (ACV) and honey in a cup and add hot water. It's delicious and both the ACV and honey have anti-bacterial properties so it can't be bad for me! As with all things, everything in moderation.

For household use, vinegar is great at cutting grease and makes a wonderful rinse for the hair!

I guess some people do take it straight from a spoon but I would rather dilute it for better drinkability and adds to my fluid intake for the day.

I tried it years ago when a friend gave me a little pamphlet.  All I got was the worst acid indigestion I've ever experienced.  The booklet said it had to be unpasturized, as virtualseeds says, and it has to have the residue in the bottom of the bottle.  This is called the "mother".  You were supposed to mix it with warm water and add honey if you wanted.  There were so many testimonials and my friend swore by it, but it disagreed with me.

I guess it really is true that what works for one person might not work for another.

I use white vinegar to clean because it's non toxic and pet safe.

Hi

I tried it a number of years ago for quite a few months as I had heard it helped to lose weight. I didn't help me lose weight but my hair and nails were the best condition they have ever been in. I tried to drink it again a while ago but just couldn't do it.

I'm diabetic ... I tried it and it really messed up my blood sugars.

=^..^= MOLLY

it taste like poison.... that stuff stright is worse then any other drink known to man.

the type i ve been trying is in tablet format , it says that it is coated to not disrupt the stomach ,since i ve started taking it ,  i haven t seen any difference however  i do work out at the gym 4 days a week , so i d like to think too that every bit counts --

however i m starting to believe that excersice and being selective as to what we eat is key ,  not starvation or any pill or liquid and be the easy fix...

if someone has tried some other diets let me know--hopefully one that doesn t required me to weigh all my food

love you guys and thanks for the replys
