Can/have you ever made eggs in the microwave?

I want to eat 2 eggs as a snack at work......

I tried - to put them in a big plastic bowl filled with water to boil them............ yea not such a good idea in case you were going to try.  Doesn't work.  Unless you want to see how far an exploded egg can travel Embarassed

Do those plastic egg container things work?  Anyone used them?

It's the only way I do it. I just spray the bottom of a plastic container (not a thin zip-lock one, but a good quality plastic lunchbox) with "fat free" spray before I pour the eggbeaters in. Even when I don't spray the bottom they come off fine. It's much easier that way, since I hate getting the frying pan dirty for just one person. Let me know how it works....

Edit: and i've never invested in a special "egg container" since i've never felt the need to

I don't really like microwaved eggs from my experience it makes the rubbery, if you just want hardboiled, make them at home and bring them to work with you.  If you would like to try to do microwaved eggs, here is a guide.  http://whatscookingamerica.net/Eggs/Microwave Eggs.htm

This is what I do for breakfast.  I take a small earthenware bowl, put my eggs in it (I use 1 whole egg plus 2 egg whites), beat them, cover with a papertowel, then mike them for one minute.  Take the bowl out, stir and break up the cooked bits, then cook again for 40 seconds.  Take out again, stir.  By now they should mostly be cooked.  Cook for another 30 seconds, stir, then eat.  They do not taste any different to me than eggs cooked in a pan.

I have the microwave egg cooker thingy and I like it. The kids can make their own eggs. I don't think they are rubbery - only if you overcook them. besides it was like $5 at Wal-mart - well worth the money

Mom liked omlettes in the microwave - just make sure the bowl is big enough for the eggs to expand.

If I'm late for work I like to make a quick egg white sandwich. So while my light wheat bread is in the toaster I break 3 egg whites into a bowl and put it into the microwave for 1.5 minutes. When it's cooked and firm I slide it out of the bowl and onto my toast :) breafast on the go.
I used to eat eggs cooked in the microwave all the time when I was a kid.  I am not sure if it would work well for anything but scrambled.  Thats the only way I like them but my mom used to beat the egg with a little bit of milk, put it in the microwave until it was cooked, mix it up and serve.  Never tasted bad to me.  I used to put ketchup on them also which helped with adding moisture but I don't eat them like that now. Mostly because I rarely eat eggs and I don't eat them with ketchup anymore.

That's easy! I take a small yogurt bowl and put a little water in the bottom (maybe 1 T). I break an egg and drop it in. Then I sprinkle with my favorite spice/herb mix..mostly cajun. I set the microwave for 1 minute but usually it's done in half the time. I check it regularly to see how the whites are setting.

Lift egg out of water and drain off. Enjoy on a slice of dark wholegrain bread. Easy peasy!

Practice a few times and you will realize cleaning up is easy and there is no additional fat added; no waste;plus you get this perfect round "faux" fried egg. Nice for buffet brunches as well...even students who don't have kitchen facilities!

Hope this helps.

Every morning I have eggs nuked...

I eat egg whites from the carton..

I get a small small bowl - I use these rice bowls and I fill them about 1/2 way - it ends up being about 3/4 c of the egg.

I put them in for 1 1/2 mins don't put them for more or they do get yuky and too less then they are runny.

I then scoop them onto a 1/2 english muffin (double fiber) and put pepper and spray i can't believe it's not butter on top - YUM.

I eat strawberries for fruit..

Good Luck.
