I made it!!!!!!!!!!
199.8lbs this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had pizza for dinner last night but I made us a nice big salad FIRST so when it was time for the pizza I only needed one small piece and I was satisfied... and I went swimming for half an hour in the afternoon. My hips and shoulders and wrists are sore from the exercise... but I'm oh so glad. This means that on the weekend I get to go to Faith Farm and play with the clothes and get myself some nice new(old) ones for my wardrobe. :) I didn't think I was EVER going to get here, but eating more food for a few days got my metabolism going again and unplateaued me nicely... it's been steadily downhill since then! Which in this case is a Good Thing.
I wonder how many more months it'll take me to get to 180? My next goal is to be under 200lbs at the END of the day (ie with food in my belly and clothes on my back...) This is the weight goal I need to be able to go on the trail ride at the Grand Canyon. Not that I'm actually going to do it, but it was something I thought I'd never ever be able to do because of my size and their weight limit (200lbs and they weigh you to make sure you're not over)... so it would be incredible to know that it was a possibility.
And how long did it actually take to get here? I started my diet on November 1st 2007 at 265lbs with the goal of getting to 200lbs, which seemed a lifetime away. 10 months later, here I am...

Question: How long after upping your calories did it take for the weight loss to start again? I just started trying to increase my calories to get over a plateau today. I'm stuck between 177 and 180 and have been for a couple of weeks.

It was almost immediate... if you look at my graph, I was stalled and going up and down by the same pound for about two weeks and i was so frustrated I wanted to give up and toss the diet in the trash - so I had a day when I ate whatever I wanted and had 2000 fairly-fatty calories instead of staying under 1500... and apparantly that was just what my body wanted because about two days later the weight started to drop off again. I think I was just eating too little for my body. BTW, 1500 calories is EXTREMELY doable on a longterm basis - you don't even need to try to eat 'diet food', just control your portions. :) I spent six months eating seperate meals to my husband because he doesn't like 'healthy food' but now we have the same thing and I just have less.

Oh snap Kaji! I'm soooo close! 92.6 kg = approx. 203.7 lbs. I want to breach 200 within two weeks. I was really bored at work today, and then I read this post, and I got super excited. I can only imagine that it feels AMAZING. 65 lbs in 10 months? Wicked. Keep up the good work!
Congratulations! I just reached my first goal a few weeks ago of getting under 200! It's such an amazing feeling!
