Magazine 2008- McCain vs. Obama: The Face-off
I'd like your help.
Sometimes you can tell who the winner of elections will be by the number of faces that they get on the cover of magazines. Sort of a media (biased-sort of) poll.
Have you seen McCain or Obama on a recent cover of a magazine? If so, let us know who was on the cover and what magazine and what month (or week if a weekly). You can link a photo of the cover if you have that available too.
Thanks.
This research design is flawed in so many ways. :D
never said it was scientific!
The articles might not even be pro-candidate as in the following.
Rollingstone (October 2008) Cartoon image of McCain flying fighter plane.
I've seen Obama on the usual new/political magazines, but I've also seen him popping up on magazines like Vibe and Men's Health.
I've seen Palin on more magazines than McCain, FWIW.
And I've seen a Mad Magazine cover that was a parody of the Shepard Fairey Obama poster. :)
What about the Obama one with him in a turban and his wife with a machine gun? It was on a magazine a while ago...

Here's a nice collection, although not complete, of Obama covers - I particularly like the one from Tiger Beat and "A New Hope" from Rolling Stone. Radar is just disturbing.
Here's a similar collection, also not complete, of McCain covers. He looks best on the Time cover.
hehehe

Oh, and if you really want to see a face off...
Obama can jam, but the old guy's got some moves...

Yes, but did you read the ARTICLE on McCain from Rollingstone? Might not exactly gain him votes! Definitely a bit biased, but my mind was made up LONG ago:)

U.S. News & World Report doesn't have a useful tool for searching back issues. But I know I've seen both candidates on their covers recently.
You can do image searches on Google, like this one, the first result of which amuses.
I'm sure you'll see many more appearance of Obama on magazines like Essence and Ebony than you will McCain. Likewise, McCain has been on more covers of ... American Conservative? (they don't like him over there, so the covers haven't been flattering)
I like this one quite a bit.
Obama got Fast Company, Mens' Vogue, GQ, Vibe and Rolling Stone.
McCain got the New York Times Magazine, and um... ???
They both got People & Fortune
blah. i am way tired of obama, mccain and magazines now.
We only get Rolling Stone
Obama - March 20, 2008 Issue 1048
Obama - July 10 - 24, 2008 Issue 1056-1057 (double issue, just Obama nothing else on cover )
Obama - October 30, 2008 Issue 1064 (the first "small edition" of the Mag. I don't like it)
McCain - October 16, 2008 Issue 1063
