Magazines/books that keep you motivated
I'm looking for some myself. I've never been much of a magazine reader until recently, and I figured I'd branch out into health/fitness magazines too. Men's Magazine is great.. Fitness Magazine has a few articles from time-to-time that keeps me motivated, but I admit they're mostly full of crap.
I love, love, loooove reading nutrition books, though. "The End Of Overeating" by David Kessler actually helped me stop binging! "The Beck Solution" is also full of great tips to stay on track.
So CC, what're your favorite magazines/books to keep you motivated, learning new tips, and on track?
okay so not a magazine, or an informative book, but two novels that I enjoyed are "The Other Shulman" and "The Memory of Running." They're fun reads and could be seen as inspirational/motivational :)
If you have a look around the fitness forum, you'll find out that fitness magazines aren't that great.
Oxygen Magazine & Clean Eating Magazine are absolutely amazing. As for books The eat clean diet by Tosca Reno is fabulous.
Oxygen scared me when I picked it up for inspiration... be ready to see scary body-builder chicks that you'd never want to look like.
I want to read The Volumetrics Diet!!
Michael Pollan's books are excellent - The Omnivore's Dilemma, and In Defense of Food. They're not about weight loss - more about healthy eating in general.
Don't be afraid of Oxygen. There are women in there that are professional body builders but without trying very hard to look like them it is almost impossible for most women to look that way.
The principles about diet and excercise in the magazine are excellent and conducive to a healthy lifestyle.
Just because some of the models in the magaizine look like "scary body builders" does not mean that is what the magazine is all about.
I definitely recommend picking up at least one copy & giving it a chance.
Check out Tosca Reno online she is absolutely amazing & a total inspiration! :o)

I hope these resources will help change your life. They are AMAZING :o)
I liked the book, The Memory of Running. For pure inspiration, I like to read Fitness or Shape. My ultimate inspiration though is going to the gym and taking a class with other women who don't look perfect and are working hard to better themselves!!
I don't know where you live... the UK? If so the health store Holland & Barrett sells their own magazine called Healthy. It's really really good, keeps me right on track and offers little tips and all sorts of advice.
Here it is online; www.healthy-magazine.co.uk

Love it!! The girls in oxygen magazine are HOT! (well.. the more natural looking ones, some of the bodybuilder esque girlies are kinda.. ehh. Well, it's impressive atleast. ;] )
I'm so going to find a magazine or two when I'm out and about.
Looks like with all these suggestions, I'm going to have me enough suggestions to keep my motivation for months! lol. I'm such a slow reader. XP
