Hey all. I have been using CC for nearly a month now. Since embarking on this amazing adventure I have found that I have only had 1 craving! It was for a pasta dish when it was dinner time.
Whats happened to me?! I used to crave chocolate and salty things all the time. I haven't so much as looked at chocolate since i started CC!
By the way im not complaining i promise! I was just wondering if there was an explanation?

It may actually be something in the dish you crave.. I crave ketchup..LOL .. weird huh..
This happens to me a lot now also, I think the main reason is that craving extremely sweet foods and especially salty foods is something that is learned and not really natural.
Since I started eating healthy I have noticed that I can not stand salty food and I comment that some foods are too salty when in the past I would have actually added table salt to the food. This is even more evident with sweet foods, now when I get a sweet craving it is usually for a apple or pineapple. When I try to eat extremely sweet things like cakes and candy it just tastes horrible.
In the end I still crave fatty things like peanut butter and high energy meals like pasta but this I think is just what humans are meant to crave as foods because of the long term energy they provide. Craving things like potato chips and cake is something that we are learned to love from a early age and may not be totally natural.

I believe that in counting calories we also keep track of nutrients. When our bodies get what they need and are satisfied, we don't have cravings.
I haven't had a true craving in a long time, and that was for fruit juice.

I agree with clairelaine - once you start feeding your body healthy food and give it everything it needs in terms of nutrients, it stops craving empty calories.
I've had a similar thing happen to me. Before I started on cc back in August, I used to crave potato chips, nachos, buffalo wings - all that deep fried yummy stuff. I'd eat it and want more - it was like I couldn't get enough. THe more I exercised and started losing weight, the less I had cravings for those types of foods. I was out with a bunch of girlfriends a few months ago and we ordered onion rings as an appetizer. I had a few - and they tasted good, but I felt awful afterwards. All that grease and gunk - it just sat in my stomach for days and made me feel "off".
My only problem is that my salty, fried food craving seems to have been replaced by a sweet tooth (which I never had before). That's a little easier to control - and heck, sugar is easier to burn off than fat!!!
