Maintaining - anyone my age (36)?
So I thought I would try with people in the same boat as me (the maintaining peeps) I was just curious if anyone else noticed that everyone seems to be getting younger and younger on this site? I am not THAT old (36) but I can not seem to find people (perusing the profiles) in my age range. Am I crazy, looking in the wrong places, what? I thought it would be nice to talk to others in a similar stage of their lives with similar goals to support each other. Anybody?????

there are several people maintaining who are in their early 30s. At least, Slappy is.
I'm 31 and maintaining... at least I was until this afternoon *sigh* I just bought a new scale that also measures body fat and I'm at 23% which still puts me in the overweight range.
Hi all you 30 somethingers, we should start some stupid club or cheerleading team for the not quite middle aged, but not so young, fit and trim people trying to be healthy.
Just wanted to make sure I was not alone in the CC Sea.

I'm in! I'm adding you to my friends list.
I HAD been working on maintaining but have had to switch back to weight loss. Trying one more time to get to goal! BTW I am one of the over 40's here learning to maintain.
Yes, there are many more younger people on Calorie Count than there used to be. I think so anyhow.

I'm 34! *jumps up and down*
and while I'm maintaining a weight, I AM trying to lose some inches with toning. ;)

i'm 37 today, but will be 38 in a couple of weeks! i am maintaining, sort of... i hit my original goal weight, but am aiming to lose about 4.5 more pounds.
geesh, now I feel old! I'm 44 and have been "maintaining" for 16 years. Needless to say I made a "lifestyle change", I didn't go on a diet.
Hello! I am 40, nearly 41 and maintaining just fine. I started about 2 years ago, lost the 20 in about 4+ months, using the Shape website. I have bicycled for years and started doing Tri's again after a year off.
I am using this site to make sure I don't go overboard on "fuel". Lots of cardio makes me really hungry and I didn't want to make mistakes of the past, thinking I could eat everything in sight, just because I rode 50 miles on my bike - tried that before and gained 20 over 4 years...
So, I am healthy and happy, maintaining 128-130 for nearly 2 years, my 5'5/5'6 body, running and biking faster than ever (really). Also mother of two boys, 9 and 10.

I'm 30, going on 31---does that count? I'm maintaining as well, I
suppose. Although I'm really using this site to make sure I get enough
protein and eat enough while training for a marathon. So I don't like
to concentrate on weight too much. However, I do think it's important
to keep tabs on my weight since when I haven't in the past, it was easy
for pounds to creep on. And on. And on. Best to keep them in check by
weighing every now and then, I think.
EDIT: I added you as a friend!

Like the acutetarian (sp?) thing, totally appropriate, even though I do not eat fish either, but can see the logic.
I"m not ready to hop on the maintaining boat just yet, I have a bit of work to do first. But I did just turn 37 3 weeks ago, so I'm pretty close to your age. There are a few of us here.
I've got you all beat ...
I turned 50 two days ago and am maintaining a 28 lb weight loss. It took me 9 months to lose the weight and that was the EASY part. Maintaining is 100% tougher.
I am currently in Phase II of my weight loss journey. I am in the process of losing the rest of the weight I'd planned to lose when I set my goal over 2 years ago.
I had to take a break in my weight loss journey due to a broken leg last fall and heart surgery in March. I was able to maintain my weight during all of that.
I started to gain weight after I began a vigorus exercise routine required after my surgery. I was hungry ALL the time. I had never worked-out before -- in my entire life (congenital heart problem). I LOVE being able to work out. What a gift.
So here I am. I've got 20 lbs to go. An aggressive goal. I can do it.
It's NEVER to late to get fit. It all starts with putting the fork down and putting your tennis shoes on.

I am in. I am 37 yrs old. I started my weight loss journey in 1997 when I had a break down at being 202 pounds. Along to my current 46 pound loss at 156. I had 4 knee surgeries and two children. They are currently 6 and 4 years. I have been losing and then maintaining along the way!
My current goal is the last 6 pounds before Tgiving, and maintaining it through the holidays. Another 10 pounds, if it is feasible for my height and bond structure, in the spring.
I started using this site to count my calories. I have been as low as 148, but not in a healthy way. I went to weight watchers to help learn about food. I am still learning.
I am trying to be finish my journey of being a "sexy momma". :-)

41 years young here! Glad to see there are a few 40-somethings here besides me lol! Not quite at maintenance level, another 8.8 lbs to lose, but I'm gettin' there :) All you 30-something whippersnappers, I'll take you on in a race teehee!!!! Once I hit 140lbs, that'll add up to 27lbs lost over the course of this year since January. Gotta say, it's a biotch losing the weight the older ya get ain't it? But we're all tough ;) keep it goin!

39 years old this summer, and this is the only place where I've even MENTIONED it. I had midlife crisis in my twenties, so what's left??? Maintainance is not glamorous or nearly as exhilirating as losing weight, I can see why people do the rollercoaster thing with their weight. 36 was a great age, if I can recall that far back ;)
I just turned 40 this year and just started to maintain..although 5 more pounds gone would be great! I am 5'4" and 120 pounds - I was 115 in high school and that was the original goal however, with all this exercise I think I look pretty good!! I just have to clean up my act on the weekends and then I can officially start to raise my calorie intake! :)
