Maintaining and Drinking Alcohol

While I was losing weight (have last 4lbs left) I cut out all drinking.  Its really helped me drop the weight.  However, I would like to go back to drinking wine/beer on occasion.  How do those of you that are maintaining incorporate drinking?  Does it affect your weight?  I was drinking quiet a bit before I stopped and I do not want to go back to that.  Just looking for some experiences from you guys.

Had 2 rum and diet cokes last night and this morning I was amazed that the scale had me 1.5 lbs lower than yesterday morning. Was it the alcohol, or what?
I've had the same things happen to me.  I'm convinced that the reason is because alcohol dehydrates you.  When I was in college, I could lose like 3-5lbs overnight.  It all comes back though.

When I was obese, I would always binge drink fairly hard when I actually drank, so for me drinking will be forever tied to when I was obese. As a result, I drink incredibly infrequently nowadays.
